Description: This is a great restaurant/birreria with a really good selection of microbrews and imported beers as well as a really great selection of food to go along with it. This place came highly recommended by the host at our B&B, and she doesn't live anywhere near this place. It's kind of a trek for her to come here, and it's totally worth it.

“Wide selection of beers. Local scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013 via mobile

Went on a food tour that ended here. Our guide picked 2 3-beer flights for my husband and I to try. All delicious. We got the house made chips and the La Scrocchette with cheese and black pepper. Definitely pub food, but really good. Try the beer flight! It's nice to taste different things.

“Nice selection of beers on tap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

I went here twice for dinner while in Rome. The first I felt ill after getting a burger. Twenty minutes later, I felt fine. On the second occasion, I had a fried chicken sandwich that was so-so. I felt okay immdiately afterwards. The beer selection is amazing so many great Italian craft beers on tap. I wish they had TV's like the other bars. Food prices are kind of high for a brewpub. 10 euro's for a sandwich, chips are extra. I would go again for drinks.

“Great choice of beer and friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

Superb choice of beers and the staff are friendly, willing and able to advise on choice. Burgers are tasty, a bit of a shame the chips are actually crisps though.

“Great beer, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

An amazing selection of high quality microbrewery beers. At least 20-30 on tap and more in bottles. In addition, this place serves pretty extraordinary bar food - Home made crisps, flavoured with pecorino cheese, garlic etc., are excellent and the burgers are really something else.
The beef comes from special Piedmontese beef cattle and you actually get asked whether you
want to have your burger rare, medium or well done! The very tasty burger simply melts in your mouth!!

“Beer gets high marks at Open Baladin- food ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

A fine assortment of quality beers makes Open Baladin a refreshing stop. If you're homesick for a burger, they're not bad, but could be juicier (ie a bit more beef fat) and there are several creative options for toppings. The chips are fun; the potatoes are deep-fried like French fries, but are cut thin and round like potato chips, and are served with a chunky tomato sauce that is less spicy than ketchup. Skip the Caesar salad, which is way too creamy and lacks the zing that it should have. The very open atmosphere is casual, youthful, lively, and noisy. If you want a bit more quiet, reserve a table in a side room well in advance. A big hit with the Roman 20- and 30-somethings, this is a great place to mingle with locals. Servers are young, busy, enthusiastic, and forgetful (they forgot to bring our beer!), perhaps understaffed. The beers are so good and varied, it would be great to see the chef feature special dishes for particular beers. (It sounds pretentious to say "food pairings" in a beer joint, but why not when you have quality beer?) I'd definitely come back for a beer and chips, and the buzzy atmosphere. I would like to see more fried food options, too, fish like baccala (cod), artichokes, shrimp, or other choices.
