5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Our tour include Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica, and the Sistine chapel. We were able to bypass the lines to gaze at the amazing frescas, statues, maps, Pieta and artwork. This is a must-see part of Rome.

“Well worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Thoroughly enjoyed this visit. Our guide, who said to call him Elvis as we did not understand his name, was brilliant, spoke perfect English so it made it so much easier as you were not straining trying to understand. Booked this tour as was a maximum of 14 people, did not want to be herded around in a large tour. True to their word there were only 10 of us. Took a long time because of the crowds, but we did not miss anything because of this. We never felt rushed. Learnt so much, he obviously loved the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peter's. Well worth the money we paid. Especially not having to queue to get in with the long queues we saw. You have a voucher and then once inside the guide goes of to get the tickets and you wait for him to come back and then you start the tour. Sorry one of the contributors had so much trouble with this company, such a shame as they offer a good service.

“Unhelpful and terrible to contact, missed one tour as a result.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

I paid for 2 tours with them, both semi-private-one for The Vatican and one for the Colisseum. I informed them before travelling that we had not received any vouchers from them and heard nothing back. I had their yahoo address in my contacts so it would have come through to my inbox. On arrival in Rome we called them, on the thursday before Easter. We called their office five times in the afternoon onlt to get voice mail. Our Landlady at the B&B called them and left messages on her phone and no reply. We eventually received an e-mail saing to meet ther next morning but no indication as to where so we had to go back onto the site to find out. We eventually found her and she was very good. At the end of the tour we explained to her that we were booked with them for the next day to tour the Colisseum but again had no idea where to meet. She tried to call the office but again no reply. She did tell us where she thought they met so we turned up there but no sign of a guide with our name on it. We waited a full hour before paying for another tour, very frustrating. We had also paid extra to be able to go in the basement as part of the tour, which we could now not do.
It was not until we copied them in to an e-mail we sent to the Italian Tourist Board complaining about this, which our landlady gave us as she was very upset by the way we had been treated, that we received any response. They then claimed they were closed over Easter, a tour company??!! Yet we received this reply on Easter sunday. Also they contact their contracted tour guides the night before to send them the names of the people on their tours.
We have now received a rebate from them but only for the basic tour, not the tour we paid for which included the basement.
We even called the UK number from Rome and yet again heard a voicemail from Peter saying he would reply but was busy with another customer.
They have since claimed to had sent the vouchers on the Yahoo address, which I certainly never received as would have been in my inbox. They have not shown me the e-mail sent since to verify this.
Plenty of other options and the guides are not theirs, just contracted in on a when required basis.
Put a real damper on the vacation as caused alot of needless stress.

“A wonderfully enriching tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

I was so pleased to be able to take our party of 4 on the Semi-Private 5-hour Vatican Highlights Tour; one other couple joined us so we really felt that we got the 'royal treatment'. I had arranged this just 1 week before we left for Italy, and fortunately the company was prompt in answering my request. Being in the slow season certainly helped. Our tour just happened to be the day before the Sistine Chapel closed for the Conclave so we lucked out in seeing that. Our guide met us at the assigned place outside the Vatican and from there we toured St. Peter's Basilica (including going to the top of the Spire for a 360 degree view of Rome & the Vatican), and the Vatican Museum. Our entrance passes were already taken care of, so there wasn't any waiting to get in which can be horrendous from what I've heard. The climb up to the Spire becomes quite narrow & there aren't any landings & I believe was about 350 steps, so you may want to pass if you don't feel you're up to it......however, it's a spectacular view! Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke fluent English & was very personable!

“A superb tour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We booked a 3 hour private tour of the Vatican via the website. Before we booked we had some questions about the tour and its suitablilty of it for our two over 70 year old relatives traveling with us. Peter replied to our emails very promptly with informative answers and making suggestions for alternatives not mentioned on the website.

The extra cost of the private tour was definitley worth it for the four of us. The semi private tours all were using headsets to hear the guides commentary, on the private tour we were able to speak directly to Valentina, our guide. She was able to interact with us in a way which would not be possible through the headsets making the tour much more personal.

Valentina had a fantastic knowledge of the Vatican and its history and was able to put it over in a very informative way and could answer all our questions.

The tour was well organised and the meeting instructions were clear and being able to jump all the lines was worth the extra cost!
