About a 10-15minute walk from the Coliseum is this beautiful Basilica, as the title suggests, i would defiantly put a day aside to visit, hands down one of the best attractions on my trip!
After walking around the various Chapels, we strolled across the road to the Scala Santa and Sancta Sanctorum, and seeing the 16th century crucifix was a highlight!
Finally again a short little walk away is the Baptistery, a must must visit, (personally my favourite part of the whole day), beautiful artwork tells wonderful stories! (see picture)
I'd recommend getting the audio guide sometimes they're a bit hit and miss but this was a iPod with earphones and was by far the best audio-guide i experienced in Rome!
No wonder The Catholic Church call it "The Mother of All Churches"....
