“the Holy relics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

This cathedral is compulsory for visiting for all the Christians such as a lot of cathedrals and churches in Rome. St Paul's and St Peter's heads are storaged here. Besides it is a really beautifull and rather big cahedral with a lot of sculptures and ancient mosaic.

“Wonderful ceiling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Nothing special from outside, the inside is particularly impressive with paintings, sculptures and a ceiling which definitely has the "wow" factor. If you're not "churched out" - there are so many in Rome - this is well worth a visit.

“Superlative in a town of superlatives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

This place is just stunningly beautiful.
No big dome to 'wow' at from the outside, but plenty to wow at inside. An absolute must. Such art, such sculpture, such marble, such contrast of plain white marble, then intricately frescoed ceiling works. Wished I could lie on my back looking straight upwards to take it all in.

“Nice historic church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 8, 2013

If you want to see something alternate to the St.Paul's glory, head to the San Giovanni in Laterano.
You will avoid the Vatican hordes and you will see a very beautiful and historic catholic church.

“Awe-inspiring and so beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

This is so beautiful and well worth visiting.Just near to the Scala Santa - the Holy Steps - so please visit as well. This church/Cathedral is absolutely stunning. The apostles stand on the roof with Jesus. Wonderful! The wooden table at the alter is said to have been used by St Peter to celebrate the eucharist and there are still some historic remains visible dating back to the 14th century and also hosts Jesus, blood which was brought to Rome by Centurion .
