The hotel overlooks the pantheon - one of the best preserved sites in Rome.
Hotel is lovely - good service & nice rooms.
Breakfast isn't great but sufficient - cold continental food only.
Would definately return.

My wife did the tour of Italy on our honeymoon, starting in Venice, going to Florence, then Rome, then Positano. This was the only really disappointing hotel. We stayed just one night. The rooms were dark, musty, and the bathroom smelled mildewy. We asked for a better room, but were told it was the best one. I have to confess that you can see the Pantheon from the window, but that is the only saving grace. It amazes me that this place is featured in so many design hotel books and articles. Needs a serious overhaul.

We have just returned form Rome after staying 3 nights at this lovely hotel. Our room was in a separate building from thehotel (50 yards) and had 4 of us in there (2 adults, 2 children). The room had the most beautiful view of the Pantheon (Room 111).
The staff were courteous and efficient. The breakfast was great, varied choice every day. The air conditioning was working but could have done with being extra cooler as the temperature was 34 degrees centigrade outside.
We walked everywhere, even in the heat. All sights were in walking distance, just take good walking shoes. The hotel was is a good location, so we usually came back and had an afternoon nap & shower before venturing out again. Would definately recommend this hotel.

As a result of having misbooked our reservations to begin our stay at the Albergo del Senato, we arrived in Rome with no place to stay on the night of our arrival. The desk concierge at del Senato, Salvatore, quickly arranged accommodations for us at the Albergo del Sole Al Pantheon for the evening for half price!. The large apartment suite was in a separate building from the hotel and directly faced the Pantheon. This was a large suite with a king size bed, a sitting room, a very modern bathroom, a large screen tv over the fireplace and a writing desk. It was nicely furnished overall. We had a key to enter the building as well as our room key. The front desk representative and bellhop were both professional and welcoming. The only issue with our stay was with the air-conditioning which was not working very well at all. It was 90+ degrees during our stay in Rome and the room was very uncomfortable because the AC didn't do the job. The next four nights we stayed at the Senato and the AC cooled the room more effectively. In summary, a positive experience particularly in light of the emergency situation and the discount.
