Our Hassler experience began with a transfer they arranged from the airport...driver met us on time at the baggage claim with a sign, and was thoroughly delightful and personable...a great ambassador for his city, especially for first-time visitors like us. We had requested a room with a view and wow! what a view! The room was absolutely gorgeous, fitted with everything you could wish for and more. Bathroom was large and luxurious with lighting that made us 60+ folks look good! We had a spot of trouble with the wi-fi connection (free) but the hotel sent up a tech directly and he fixed it in a jiffy. Walking out on the balcony every morning to appreciate the panoramic view was incredible, and the beautiful weather didn't hurt a bit. Breakfast in the Palm Court, included in the price, was super delicious and the setting is lovely. The public rooms, in fact, are all very beautiful.
The staff was gracious, friendly, efficient and professional. We loved them all.
The location is wonderful - the double paned floor to ceiling windows kept the noise out at night - and we were able to go for a jog each morning before breakfast at the Pincio and across to the Borghese Gardens. There is a fabulous restaurant five minutes' walk from the hotel, just where the Pincio begins - Casina Valadier. Yikes, so beautiful and sooo yummy.
We will be returning to the Hassler for sure...it's expensive but worth it in every way.
