The Hotel Hassler was simply marvelous! This was our first trip to Italy and staying at the Hassler made it so memorable. We have stayed in some of the best hotels in New York, Europe and all over the United States. The Hassler ranks at the top of its class. It is beautiful and charming, and has an understated elegance. The location is perfect. We had a gorgeous Grand Deluxe double room overlooking the Spanish Steps and the rooftops of Rome. From our room we could actually see the dome of St. Peter's Basilica. What a glorious sight at night! Also, April in Rome was just bursting with color from all of the spring blooms making it that much more spectacular. From the hotel you can walk everywhere: Via Condotti, Piazza de Popolo, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Via Veneto etc. There is also a beautiful outdoor terrace on the 7th floor where you can just sit and relax and take in the breathtaking views. My husband and I would unwind there with a glass of wine at the end of our day. La Dolce Vita! I would also like to mention the absolutely delicious buffet breakfasts-a definite highlight.

One of the other many things we especially loved about the Hassler was the impeccable service. I can't imagine it being any better. You feel like royalty when you are there. The whole staff couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming. Our special thanks to Roberto Coluccio at Reception and Ricardo at the Concierge desk. They took care of everything.

I would also highly recommend the spa. The treatments are so luxurious and once again the service was wonderful.

There is no question at all that we if we ever return to this fabulous city, we will no doubt go back to the Hotel Hassler. It was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. Our thanks to all of the staff for making our first trip to Italy so special. We can't wait to go back!

When you approach the Hassler through the windy streets of Rome you would never guess that is such a fantastic place to stay.

From the minute we pulled up outside and were whisked from the car to the day we left every moment was perfect.

The location is fantastic, right at the top of the Spanish Steps, the view from our balcony was amazing, we could see the whole city of Rome and it was truly breathtaking.

We stayed in a suite, it was decorated in a modern but contemporary style, it was not huge but then that's what I would expect from an old hotel in the centre of the room. There were two bathrooms, a great minibar and two small balconies to sit on and just take in the view.

We had room service for lunch the first day and it arrived swiftly and was very appetising and presented very well.

Although not a small hotel it feels very intimate as it is not a corporate sprawling hotel. The staff are all very pleasent and friendly. The General Manager came to say hello to us as we were there for an anniversary.

The bar is old style, lots of mirrors little corner seats etc, we had late drinks in there two nights and it is a very nice place to relax, they also have a lounge overlooking the courtyard where you can just sit and relax and read the papers.

We had dinner in La Pergola one night, the views are so stunning that I actually forget about the food we were eating! But the food is beautiful, a wonderful meal with very attentive staff.

We had room service breakfast each day and it was lovely and warm which doesn't always happen with breakfast.

Other Things: Used the laundry service one day to get a shirt ironed, we had it back in half an hour. The onsite hairdresser was excellent.

The conceirge were wonderful with suggestions for shopping, restuarants and even arranging to take back some shoes when we discovered we had been given two different sizes!

It is very very expensive but we knew that when we booked, if you can afford it go, it is a real treat, they know what a five star hotel should be like, everything is perfect, I loved it.

The Hassler is a great place to stay in Rome. It sits directly above the Spanish Steps. Our room was really nice. They have obviously redone them recently. The decor was very well thought out - everything went together. There was a panel of buttons on each nightstand for all of the lights in the room. The bar/minibar area below the tv was very elegant. The closet was great - it was like two large armoires that lit up when you opened then and had custom made shelves.

The hotel is quite formal. I would not recommend it if you prefer a more comfortable atmosphere.

We had the Continental Breakfast both mornings we were there. It was great for us - lots of cereal, fresh pastries, juices and fruit. We had an incredible dinner at Imago. One of the best meals that we have ever had. Also one of the most expensive :)

I would definitely recommend the Hassler.

I treated my daughter and her friend to a European cruise this summer and we stayed at the Hassler for two days before boarding our cruise ship. The hotel could not have been better. I booked via e-mail with the Hotel and they had two connecting rooms for us that were perfect. And per my request, one room was even ready for us when we arrived at 9:30 am after our overnight flight. The hotel arranged for a drivier to pick us up at the airport, a personal guide for the following day and a driver to take us to cruise port. The location was perfect and my 18 year old and her friend loved seeing the US celebrities in the hotel. While the hotel was expensive it was worth every penny for the service we received. I will return whenever I visit Rome.
