To begin, my husband is a Starwood Preferred member, and we stayed at this hotel using points and paying less because of pricing we received on deals through Starwood. That being said, this hotel was incredible. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and gracious. We stayed for four nights, and each late afternoon after walking and touring all day, it was such a luxury to soak in the marvelous bath and nap in the quiet of the room situated next to a quaint courtyard. The concierge gave great recommendations for restaurants each night, and we were treated with overwhelming hospitality at the restaurants we visted when the concierge made reservations for us. One restaurant worth mentioning is Vineto where we had a superb meal with a wonderful host and waiting staff. The Eden is in a terrific location for sightseeing. My husband and I walked all over Rome, and found it very easy to get around. The views from the restaurant and bar are beautiful as is mentioned in other reviews. As far as the cleaning staff, I am not sure how many times the cleaning staff entered the room, but if we dirtied a towel, the next time we came to the room, a new one replaced it. The room was spotless. The room size was also a welcome surprise since we had read that most hotel rooms in Rome were small compared to American standards. The room we were in was quite large and the bathroom was beautiful. Knowing we were coming back to this hotel each night made our stay in Rome that much more enjoyable. Lastly, I would not think that this hotel is one for small children or teens. I think it would be more for couples or people in Rome on business.

We just returned from a stay at Hotel Eden, and thanks to Trip Advisor reviews, knew what to expect. This was a great location for our plans, convenient to the Spanish Steps and Piazza Barberini metro station (about 2 blocks away). We had 2 children with us, and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. The concierge helped us with reservations for several things, and directions as well. The room was spacious, and had a separate shower and tub, which was great with the kids. The water was plentiful with great pressure/rain shower. The furnishings were rather sumptious, as to be expected in a hotel of this level. The windows opened for lovely night air, and we had parquet floors, a loveseat, desk, small table, a few chairs, and several windowseats. We had an in room safe, and a small mini bar (could remove a few drinks to place your own items inside with no problem). The bed was not as hard as I was expecting, but was not as comfortable as the fluffy heavenly bed you might see at other starwood hotels stateside. We had nightly turn down service with chocolates or candy delivered- the kids loved that touch! The only drawback I saw has nothing to do with the hotel but with European hotel style in general when traveling with kids- you need to be prepared for only one bed. They will bring in one cot, if that is what you prefer for the kids, and there was plenty of space for that in our room. If you are using starwood points, as we were, you can upgrade your room to a more appropriate one for children. Call the hotel and discuss with them in advance. Per the previous reviews, we did not eat at the hotel for breakfast or order room service (extremely expensive) but did shell out the 23 euro to use the internet for 24 hours in the room. We didn't find any hotels during our stay that included internet- seems to be a European thing.

We had a rental car for use during other parts of our trip, and conveniently parked it right across the street in the garage for 18 euro a night- this is one of the few parking garages we saw in Rome, so the location was excellent for that.

My husband thought this would have been incredible as a romantic destination for 2 adults. Overall, we thought it was great, but you could probably find other better values if that is what you need in Rome- for our starwood points it was great.

I was very impressed by the beautiful lobby, and the rooms met the highest standards of taste and luxury. This is a gorgeous hotel and unlike other "grand dames" does not feel the slightest bit shabby or worn - it's top notch in every respect.
I would agree with the comments of others that the service was a bit snooty - I felt like they checked us in and then virtually ignored us apart from a mumbled buona sera when we were walking in/out.
I liked the location, especially in the spring when we wanted to spend time in the Villa Borghese gardens. Reasonable walk to metro and lots of interesting locations.
The breakfast is great - but it cost 53 Euros. On the first day I assumed/hoped that they were not charging me the 53 for each of my children (ages 4 and 6) who ate about one bite of toast and a sip of juice apiece. The second day, before heading to the restaurant, I phoned the restaurant as well as the concierge who assured me that yes, the children were charged 53 euros too! For me and two children, breakfast cost about US$200. It was perfectly lovely and delicious, but not worth that much.
Internet cost 23 EUR per day or 0.60 per minute.
Laundry prices were very high as well.
All-in-all, this is a great hotel and it's hard to find any issues with the comfort level, but the price (of the room as well as each and every one of the extras) is sky high, even for what it is. No value here.

My husband and I stayed here from March 20 to 24. We decided to take the Leonardo Express to get to the hotel. The cost for both of us was 24euro from the airport. I regret taking the train because the train was slow and after we got off the train, we had a hard time finding the hotel. We got off at Barberini station and it was about 5-7mins walk (a little bit uphill and streets were narrow). I believe the Spagna station has a little bit oh uphill too. With all of the hassles that we went thru, we should have went with the $40euro private taxi.

The checkin was fast and easy. We got a room at the first floor near the corner. When we open the window, the dumpster was right there. Of course, it had a bad smell. We reserved a double room and that room had a fullsize bed which i thought it was small for both of us but the bathroom was nice and spacious.

The second day our bathroom broke. It wouldnt flush. They wouldnt switch the room because they said it was all booked. This problem continued for the next 2 days. They tried to fix it but couldnt. So we were stuck with the broken toilet. Until the last day, they moved us to 4th floor with balcony. This room was better with queen size bed.

The rooftop restaurant was nice, had a nice view but expensive.

The checkout was quick. This time we took the private taxi to Termini station. It was $10euro.

My family and I stayed at the Eden two weeks ago. The staff was lovely. The rooms we were given were spacious and beautifully decorated. This is a hotel with real old world charm. Its location is superb, just two blocks from the Spanish Steps and a lovely walk from the Trevi Fountain area. I look forward to returning to this hotel.
