I've been staying at The Eden for more than a decade, for both for business and pleasure. Each time I leave makes me want to return even more.
The size of the hotel is perfect: smaller than a little boutique, but nowehere near large enough to feel like a big hotel. The location is nothing short of perfect as well. A five minute walk to the Spanish Steps, the Via Veneto, or Piazza Barberini. and it is extremely tastefully decorated. It's like staying in a private villa. Very elegant, yet very comfortable.
What makes the hotel very special however, is the staff. Starting with the hotel general manager, Marcel Levy, and right on down, they are the top of the list as far as service and giving attention.
We have a nearly four year old (this was his second visit to the Eden), and the staff in the hotel, in particular the breakfast room, made him feel like The Principe during our entire stay. Their personal attention, enthusatically offered, is why I keep going back. Same with the bar staff in the elegant roof top lounge -- offering one of the best views in Rome. They are all superb.
There are always little things that could be better -- for instance having to ask for a room upgrade as a Platinum member when the hotel was pretty empty pre-Christmas. No need for that really, especially since I was paying a pretty good rate, not staying on points.
But I chalk that up to the exception to the rule. This is a first class hotel run by incredibly professional, welcoming people. I doubt I'll ever stay anywhere else.
