Our week- long stay at this hotel was terrific, especially because we desired to explore as much of Rome as possible. As many have said, it's literally at the foot of the Pantheon and within walking distance of every site except the Vatican. There are also many good restaurants close by ( Alfredo's and Rist. L'Angoletto) and several beautiful caffes. Rooms are not large, but that's expected. Staff is friendly as well. Recognize that it's not billed as the Ritz Carlton, but is a wonderfully-situated, clean and friendly place which serves as a great "home base" for explorers.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic location, very helpful staff - and always stop by the bar and chat with Michele before venturing out for the evening...his recommendations are the best way to enjoy Rome like a Roman!

My wife and I have just returned from a long weekend in Rome and we very much wanted to immediately thank the Albergo del Senato which contributed so much to the wonderful time we had there.

From the moment of our arrival we felt like honoured guests and very much appreciated the friendly and helpful attitude of the reception staff throughout our stay.

The room itself was beautifully decorated and we were fortunate to have a view over the Piazza and onto the Pantheon itself. I don't know if this is a regular occurence but at 6pm we were serenaded by a military band in the Piazza playing selections from the operas.

The hotel is very centrally situated within easy walking distance of all the major attractions - we never needed to take transport to get arround - and there are some excellent restaurants close by.

This is the first review that I have written, but we both felt that the hotel should be recommended after the excellent time we spent there.

3 of my family members stayed at the Alberto del Senato in late October. The hotel was in a great location and it was nice to have breakfast included in the room rate. For 360 euros per night, however, I would have expected a lot better service. After our second night of three in the hotel, we noticed that housekeeping had not bothered to give us any new shampoo or soaps, and had not replaced the towels. They left the used ones out and without lids on. When we called housekeeping to get new soap and towels, they brought it to us right away. However, when we called them back 10 minutes later after we discovered there were no water glasses replaced in the bathroom, housekeeping came back and mumbled for us to make a list next time. They didn't seem to realize they should be replacing these items in the mornings when they cleaned the room. In addition, the bathroom shower does not drain well and we found ourselves having to take quick showers to avoid swimming in water (we brought this up to management but I don't think anything was done.) In summary, the hotel was in a great location, some of the staff were very helpful, but overall I think you could do better for your money elsewhere.
