“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Just back from 7 nights at the Del Senato. Glad I picked this place. Perfect central location to explore Rome for the first time. You cant get lost when you know your hotel is right next to the Pantheon.

Hotel staff was very nice. Front desk, the servers at Breakfast, Housekeeping. Everyone was very helpful. Hotel was great. Clean. Room was always serviced in the morning and ready for me when I got back in the afternoon after a day of exploring.

Breakfast was good and had a great selection to eat, hot and cold foods.

I had ordered the 1 person solo room and it was fine for me. Plenty of room for one person and still luxurious. Bathroom was as large as the bedroom so that was great too because I've stayed in nice hotels in London in single rooms, and the bathroom is like a closet.

Glad I use Trip Advisor and found about this place. I would stay here again and highly recommend it for any friend or family member going to Rome.

Room Tip: didnt have a Pantheon view room, which was fine. Kinda noisy out there anyhow with all the people a...

Returned this week from a 6 week trip to Italy, the Albergo Del Senato,Rome was just a magic place to stay. We were given room 407,4th floor, which has the best view of any hotel in Rome I would dare say........birds eye view out of two large windows of the Pantheon. The corner room was decorated in classic Italian style with silk walls and gorgeous bathroom. We enjoyed the fact the you are in the centre of the ancient area of Rome and therefore can walk to all the major sights. The added benefit is at the side of the Pantheon is a taxi stand so if your tired you can hop a taxi and go anywhere...which we did do often. Luca at the front desk is an exceptional gentleman who made us feel very welcome from the first moment on arrival. Breakfast is your typical Italian....pastry,bread,cheese,cold cuts.....the scambled eggs are not so great. But fresh fruit & cereals so all that you need to start your day. We spent 6 days there and had no trouble in finding lovely restaurants to eat in every evening, we ate at the restaurants on the other side of the Piazza to the Hotel a few times and sat in the evening ( even in January) to view the Pantheon by night in it's glory of subtle lighting. We have been to Rome 10 times and we have never been happier than staying at the Albergo Del Senato.........Do yourself a treat and stay...you will be very happy.

Room Tip: Room 407 corner room with 2 large windows overlooking the Pantheon.....absolutely heaven.

We spent four nights here in February 2013, and we will certainly go back. The location is wonderfull and within walking distance of nearly everything. The room was well appointed. Breakfast was varied and quite good. We were very pleased with the staff, especially Luca at the front desk who was welcoming and very helpful from beginning to end. This is a wonderful place.

We are just back from a fantastic stay here. The location is the unique selling point of this hotel - perfect base for exploring. Not to mention the view, amazing! We had a suite on the 4th floor and it really exceeded our expectations. It was huge! I would highly recommend getting a room with the Pantheon view, not just for the awesome monument but for the Piazza people watching and street performers. We had the pleasure of listening to a beautiful acoustic guitar and celloist from down below our window, very romantic! The service, cleanliness and facilities warrant outstanding praise. The breakfast was sufficient and delicious. A special mention to Mauro stationed at reception, what a friendly and helpful man! Everything was "no problem" for him. When we return to Rome, we will absolutely stay here again.

Having traveled the world, I can give this hotel the highest of recommendations. I arrived on a cold and rainy evening. From the time that I arrived, this hotel felt like home. The front desk staff, Alessandra, Ferruccio and Luca, were both professional and friendly. They gave us suggestions as to local sites, which were excellent. Our room was clean and bright. The many widows make for views that will stay with you. The housekeeping staff were excellent. They were quiet, quick, and left lovely toiletries. The hotel overlooks the plaza at the parthenon. Watching life take place over the course of the day - from the Italian sunrise to the immigrants tossing tiny lit parachutes into the air at night, was lovely. The hotel has a small eating area in the back, where a variety of breakfast items are served in the morning. The extended serving time is great for the tourist who is suffering from jetlag. Be aware that there are also restrooms down the stairs in the back of the hotel. There is a small bar next to the lobby which is nice, and a terrace bar on the roof. Check out the webcam on line and you can see the view from the terrace. I would also suggest that the limo to the airport. It is only 55 euros, has a driver who would make a great tour guide, and the hotel will make the arrangements for you. Enjoy. This hotel is a treasure.

Room Tip: If you can swing it, ask for the suite that overlooks the Parthenon. It is worth every cent.

Got back last night from a 3 day trip to Rome - our first visit- and felt compelled to praise the Albergo del Senato. Room was well equipped, and ideal for us. Location was convenient. We could hardly be closer to The Pantheon - the photos don't lie. Yet the hotel was peaceful and relaxed. I can't praise the staff enough, they were all excellent, and made our stay particularly pleasant.

We travelled from the airport into town in a shuttle bus with two other couples for 20 Euros per person, and thought this was ok value. The hotel organised a Mercedes Limo to take us back to the airport for 55 Euros. This was much better value , in my opinion, and unlike the shuttle bus driver, the limo driver did not feel as though he was auditioning for some car chase movie!!

Stayed in the Albergo Del Senato Hotel at the beginning of January 2014. This hotel was amazing.

It started with our arranged transfer from the airport (I learned my lesson last time I came to Rome when I was packed into a taxi van with 6 other people). Our flight was delayed an hour and the driver waited on us with my name card still in his hand. We shuffled off to the new black Mercedes that waited for us. The ride was enjoyable with complimentary water and candy.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted very warmly by the front desk staff. We gave them our names and ID, signed a couple of papers, and were given the room keys. Check-in took maybe 5 minutes at the most and left us with all questions answered.

Mauro Orlandi at the front desk was the most helpful, courteous, and just plain nice guy that you could ever meet. He was knowledgable about the city and surrounding areas being from Rome himself. He had good recommendations on restaurants, and was top notch on wine. Can't say enough about this guy.

Upon entering the room we found a clean, welcoming environment. We relaxed a few minutes and then the bellhop was promptly there with our luggage. The room had an electronic boiling pot so making tea or coffee was very easy. They had a nice selection of Twinings tea in the room as well. Our window opened to a small outside "area" between the buildings with a few different plants. It was nice to get fresh air, but next stay will request a room overlooking the pantheon.

Room had all the usual toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower cap, and even had a blow dryer.

The maid cleaned the room every morning and even came in during the afternoon to turn down the bed and close the curtains! (The chocolates she left on the bed each night were very good ;-)).

The breakfast was delicious every morning with hot scrambled eggs and bacon. There was also a very big selection of pastries, fruit, and juices.

Service, service, service. Those are the three words that sum up this wonderful hotel. I will be back many more times in the future and will recommend to anyone going to Rome.
