“Excellent location, fantastic hotel....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We recently stayed here in June 2013 for 3 nights & had a wonderful time... We chose this hotel based on reviews from this site & were not disappointed in the slightest... What a great find...
From the reception staff to welcome you, help organize transfers to airport, recommend somewhere to eat etc... they were brilliant... Cleaning staff always very cheerful & helpful & the catering staff (at breakfast) excellent they even remember how you take you hot beverages at breakfast...
Bed comfy & we finally found pillows that we liked....yeah...
Bathrooms spotless...
Room for 2 large suitcases even though the room was a little small (but we are in Italy though).
Tea & coffee making facilities & a safe in your room.
Wooden shutters on windows to keep the room in darkness for sleeping...
Double glazed windows helps keep out the noise of the city hum if you don't like it but personally we did...
View from our 4th floor window to the Pantheon...what a magnificent view it was.. & over the Piazza Della Rotunda with the singers, musicians, cafes & people taking it all in... wonderful...
A roof top terrace area for drinks in the pm to just sit & soak in the city & to take in the sunset.. wonderful
Comfortable walking distance to major attractions...
When we come back to Rome this will be a must for us...

I completely agree with the other positive reviews that this hotel has received. Two things set it apart from the others in Rome. First is the location, which for me is the most important thing about a hotel. The Piazza della Rotunda is a bit like Piazza Navonna used to be--a wonderful place to just sit and hang out and watch people. The Pantheon isn't a short walk away: it's your front yard. The neighborhood is full of nice shops, cafes, and restaurants. The second factor is the wonderful, wonderful staff, who do everything they can to be helpful. No short tempers, no dismissive attitudes--just kind attention. You are invariably greeted when entering and leaving the hotel. The rooms are serviced multiple times during the day, so if you take a mid-afternoon shower (it gets hot in Rome and these can feel really good!), you will have fresh towels by evening, and if you take a nap your bed will be remade. Everything feels personal--none of the cold impersonality that larger hotels can have. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. The showers are excellent! Given these factors, I consider this hotel to be well-priced, and I would never stay anywhere else in Rome.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view of the Pantheon get sun and are a bit noisy, but the view! Rooms without the view...

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this hotel in mid-June. Located right next to the Pantheon, it is a convenient place to most of the historic sites in center city Rome. Easy walk to the Colosseum and surrounding area. The staff at the hotel are courteous and professional and if asked, will patiently give you dining and other site-seeing suggestions. The room we were in was a bit small but is probably typical to most European hotels. Everything is very clean. Breakfast does come with the room rate and was pretty standard. Many restaurants to choose from near the hotel but do try to venture to other parts of the city for different dining experiences. Overall, a great location to visit the many sites in central Rome and you should not be disappointed if you stay at this hotel.

I have to start by saying the staff of the hotel is exceptional, they go out of their way to make you comfortable. I had booked two nights as a package as only that was available for my dates, and when I checked out after the first night the staff went out of their way to refund me the remaining night. Even though I didnt ask for a refund as I knew it was a package deal and I didnt want one back. But they still worked on it & insisted. Where does that happen in todays world even in the big ? Impressive.

The hotel itself is average, but rooms are good & clean. No problems. The location is where this hotel is the winner. It is right in from of the magnificent Pantheon. You are right in the center of Rome, all the historic sites are walking distance & so are shops & restaurants. This is a great place to stay to see the glory that is Rome. You cant go wrong.

This was our 3d stay here, and we will be back again. The location can't be beat in Rome. The hotel is walking distance to all major tourist attractions. It opens onto the piazza with restaurants and shops and of course the iconic Pantheon. The staff are wonderful. It is a testament to this hotel that in the 10 years we have been coming the staff are for the most part still there!
The rooms are comfortable, clean well cared for. Bathrooms are large with overhead showers with lots of water pressure! Breakfast is included and had a lot of variety.
The roof top bar is a lovely spot to enjoy the sunset and view over the city.
We will choose de Senato for our next stay in Rome most definitely.

Room Tip: If possible choose a room that opens onto the piazza and the Pantheon. We stayed in corner room on th...

This small, boutique hotel is located NEXT to the Pantheon. Perfect location for street entertainment, restaurants, taxis, and major attractions. The staff was exemplary! Helpful in every way thye possibly could be. They speak 5 languages, so you should be in good hands, no matter which language you speak. The room looked out over the Pantheon and the court activity, which we found to be exciting. Opera one night, entertainers the next. Always something going on. The breakfasts were ample, with eggs and meats and fruit, yogurt, different rolls and desserts. Something for all. We would highly recommend this hotel to all visiting in Rome.

Room Tip: If you like the action in the square, go for a room looking out over the Pantheon. Close windows if...

I stayed for 4 nights in June in room 107, a junior suite with my family. The location is excellent, right in the heart of tourist district, in front of Pantheon. 5-10 mins walk to Trevi fountain and piazza de nova. This was my first experience in a hotel other than well known large chains. The staff were very courteous and friendly, followed up with Alitalia for my lost luggage and assisted in renting out a stroller. The only downside is the size of rooms. A junior suite was quite small. The main room barely supported a double bed while the adjoining room just had space for a small single bed sofa bed.
