Rome is a great city; but these are some of the problems to look out for.
1, Transfer from the airport to Rome Termini. The Easy Jet flight were selling transfers for £8, but we had decided to use the Leonardo express, this was our first problem. It was a fair walk to the station, and we passed the taxi and bus station on the way, bus transfers seemed to range from 4 euros up to 8, Taxis were 48 Euros. The Leornardo tickets were 16 euros each, and they ran every 30 minutes and took 30 minutes to get to Rome, We waited 45 minutes and the journey took a hour. While waiting we watched two normal trains for Rome arrive and depart, they cost 5 euros.
The Leonardo used a stop at Termini that was 15 minutes walk to the taxis ,directions were poor, and we ended up at a side entrance.
People will offer to help you, but these are touts and will want paying, they expect 20 euros.
Getting around Rome, we used the subway, be very vigilant, pickpockets are expert and will take a advantage of a moments lapse.
