“Only if you have more than 3 days in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

One of the 4 museums of the National Roman Museum, which are included in one unified ticket.
It is located next to Termini station.
It is a 2-store collection of roman sculptures organized inside a roman palazzo.
The atrium is a great place to have a break before seeing the second floor.
Totally worth the visit if you have more than 3 days in the city and you are interested in roman history. Otherwise I totally recommend you to visit palazzo Altemps instead, which is smaller, more interesting and closer to the center of the city and the other important monuments.

“Museum...wonderful, beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

This museum was about a 10 minute walk from hotel and right next to the termini. Another tourist and I walked over in the morning... my new friend was from Denmark and spoke English quite well, but she did not want to rent headset, so I did not either. Luckily, most of the displays had Italian and English descriptions. We spent three hours and I could have easily spent more time. In fact, when my traveling companions returned from a different tour, I suggested we all go back the same day. So, I spent another two hours there. If you are interested in a museum with beautiful displays, diverse artifacts (and clean restrooms!!!) then this is the place to go. There were no crowds...unlike other places we visited.

“Excellent Museum in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Two floors of sculpture depicting emperors and other famous people, and one floor with mosaics and frescoes that is amazing. Located very close to Termini train station, on the Roma Pass list of museums.

“Outstanding display of Mosaics!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

See the top floor first, with the collection of mosaics and frescos. It was truly jaw-dropping! The coin collection in the basement is impressive as well

“You could do better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Let's start with a warning: they do not accept credit cards, they can't or won't change larger bank notes, and they are not sorry for it. It's 2013...
They have a rather large collection, though lacking any absolute highlights. Availability of information is varying, at least for foreign speakers. There are better choices for museums in Rome.
