“Some excellent ancient sculpture and mosaics”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Some excellent relics, many of which were rescued from the site of Rome's main railway station nearby. Look for the mosaics. One looks like an early example of op art. A beautiful bust of Sappho.

“Beautiful museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We loved wandering through this gorgeous museum looking at all the statues. It's a lovely place, and admission includes visiting the Baths of Diocleziano and the Crypta Balbi.

“Introduction to Rome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

The museum was small enough to cover quickly but encompassed enough to give you a great timeline of Roman history.

“Interesting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We like to see the world renowned art and we like to know the History of the places that we travel to. This was interesting and showed a range of information we did know and didn't. A lot of Museums in Rome right now have lent out important pieces and it's a shame some of the ones we wanted to see were loaned out but some were even loaned within the city... The ticket costs 10Euros and allows you access to the four National Roman Museums scattered around the city (an adventure)... value for money and interesting, go if you're staying at least a week as this isn't really something you ABSOLUTELY MUST see, just a very good thing to catch if you can manage.

“Nice museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Interesting museum. Don't bother with the audioguide-- it says pretty much what the posted information does and it is written in Italian and English.
