We stayed in this Hotel for our Honeymoon trip.

First the Positive: The Hotel is very close to the Vatican. That's it.

The Negative: The roof Garden is STILL under construction. This was our most expensive room in all of our trip (Paris, Barcelona, Mestre/Venice, Bologna and Florence) by much. We stayed in much more nicer hotels; I don't think the prices they charge reflects what you get. We booked a Junior Suite (very small room) I'm glad I didn't pay extra for the more expenive suite ( seeing the floor plan from the Evacuation plans I noticed they are like 5% bigger).

It was cold during our 3 night stay. The windows had wooden shutters which never quite closed hermeticaly so we had some noise and drafts. The heating didn't work at all. So we ordered extra brankets to make up for it.

From reading about other reviews they probably have a free pick up from the airport to the hotel but they do charge (I think it was like $40 Euro per person) to take you to the Airport.

They forgot to wake up us for our check out, but fourtanetly i woke up by myself ( I had a feeling they would forget even after I told them twice to write it down) so we didn't miss our plane home.

I don't know what's the deal with the roof garden from their main advertising picture. I think its a very good Photoshop work. Don't expect to recognize the hotel by it. I You need to be in the roof top of the next building to see that view...

The breakfast was ok. But not great. They had 2 saltshakers for the entire resaurant don't undestand that. We passed it around the tables.

So close to the Vatican you can see St. Peter's as you have breakfast.

We stayed here Sept.26-29. I had booked though Priceline and was originally given the Atlante Garden Hotel, the sister hotel close by, but was switched to this hotel when we checked in. The ACs were nice and cold in the room, and you could buy internet. It was a large corner room, with a nice bathroom. However, the bed was two beds pushed together. This was fine since they didn't split apart as we slept. Breakfast was good and the restaurant had a wonderful view of St. Peter's Basilica. We could never go to the rooftop garden. I'm not sure why it was closed. It's a 10 min walk to the Ottaviano metro station. There's a little convenience store near by where you can buy soda and water for under €1, just in case you're tired of spending €3 everywhere else. The best thing about this place is that it had Sky sports on the television, so I could watch some NFL games as we ended our day.

This is a review filled with very mixed feelings.

We booked this hotel for 3 rooms on priceline. We had been driving throughout Italy but decided to return our rental cars early before we got to Rome. The hotel was kind enough to pick us up at the airport and bring us to the hotel. When we got to the Star I told them my reservations were at the Garden, their sister hotel. The desk clerk then told me that they had no hot water at the other hotel so we were switched here. I knew this was most likely untrue (and that was confirmed to me later on) since I have seen so many reviews of these 2 hotels switching people back and forth.

We brought our luggage to the rooms and mine was very hot. I turned the ac on but it was so stifiling in there that I got on the bed to check the vents. Nothing. I told the front desk and they said a collegue would be up to fix it.

The front desk clerk kept telling us about the wonderful restaurant on the top floor for dinner. Tired, and not wanting to go in search of a meal at 9 pm at night, we went up there. This was the biggest disappointment and costliest mistake of our trip. The food was expensive and bad. Only one of the 6 enjoyed their meal. The staff, upset at our attire, even though we asked the host if we should change and he said no, ignored us and was slow even by European standards. We ordered drinks with our dinner and didn't get them until we got the bill (we sent them back). I was sick the rest of the night and my husband was sick all morning.

Upon returning to our room the ac was not fixed but a window was open. The front desk clerk, a new one, told us it was broken and there was nothing to be done as both hotels were fully booked (I guess the hot water was fine now huh?). He handed me a fan and said too bad. There were no outlets the fan could work in as both the plug and its adapter didn't fit anything inthe room. The room was on the first floor and facing the busy street. Between my husband and i we got 2 hours of sleep and roasted. I have never been so angry at a hotel in my life.

The next day we were able to change rooms and that issue was solved. We were charged for the shuttle back to the airport the following day although they had originally told us it was free both ways. the barmaid, the hardest working person in the hotel, was excellent and pleasant even when being run ragged.

The second night room change and the help with the shuttle from the airport is the only reason this hotel is not getting a lower mark. Go to the restaurant for the free breakfast but skip it for dinner. Be prepared that when you book here you may not wind up staying here and that everything they say may sound pleasant and reasonable, but may be a very large lie.

Very nice hotel, excellent location and wonderful view of St Peters’ from the rooftop restaurant. Stayed in room 308 (3 twin beds), room was clean and while facing the street the windows/shutters kept out much of the street noise.
Breakfast was nice but would have like a variety in the types of eggs served, not very fond of hard boiled eggs every morning. Still one of the best breakfast buffets around. Reception was always helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend.

My sister and I recently came back from our trip to Europe. We stayed at Atlante Star for 3 nights in Rome. The best element is definitely the location. We walked to the Vatican, Castel d'Angelo, Piazza Navona (maybe 20 walk?), the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese. The Colosseum and area will require metro. We had room 301. It was clean, no view of the St. Peter's but it was expected since we got an excellent deal with Expedia. A pleasant surprise was the TV! It had English channels! We didn't venture out at night past 9pm so it was good evening entertainment. The buffet was not as good as expected.... I guess the reviews from Tripadvisor kept our expectations too high. I know it is probably the wrong place to say this but I have recommend a local restaurant, 2 mins down the street from the hotel. It's the one with dark blue and yellow table cloth. It was the best tasting and value restaurant we found during our whole trip! The pasta was excellent! One note of caution, do NOT ask the reception for a restaurant recommendation. The one we went to was BAD... they charged us 4 Euro for "reservation fees". The shuttle to the airport was a bonus. We would most likely stay here again on our next visit to Rome.
