For the decor and presentation of the room, I would give a 5* rating, however my overall rating is knocked down by the poor service.

We stayed at the hotel using points and we were upgraded to a beautiful suite. However, the suite was located on the 5th floor underneath the club room. Furniture was constantly being pushed around, even up until midnight when we went to bed. On the second night, we were woken up by moving funiture at 5 am! Although this stopped after I called the concierge to complain, it started up again at 7 and woke us up. When were reported this to the front desk in the morning, they were completely indifferent to our concerns.

I asked the concierge regarding train schedules to the airport and whether any shops were open on Sundays. He did not bother looking up the timetable, gave us the wrong train times and informed us that absolutely everything was shut on Sunday in the centre of town. When we did go in, it turned out that in the main shopping area, almost all of the shops were open.

In general, although noone was downright rude, I felt the service was very cold and indifferent and I was more than a bit disappointed. Although the building itself was nice, I'd rather stay somewhere less opulent, but more welcoming.

We stayed here for the first two nights of our honeymoon. We used Hilton Honors points to pay for the room (otherwise we wouldn't be staying there). Of course the resort is fabulous, staff were polite, communal areas were sumptuous, very nice pool and gym.
When we arrived we were given a room overlooking the park but managed (with much effort) to change to a room overlooking the city of Rome which is a must.
Everything in the rooms is as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The bathroom was fabulous, as was the balcony with the view. In the evenings there would be live music from a pianist and singer who were down by the pool - we felt like we were being serenaded!
The downside is the cost of everything - the restaurant has a Michelin star so you expect it to be a little pricey but €42 for breakfast!!!!! That's a little much. We ended up walking down the road to an Italian plaza and people watching at the local coffee bar - much more interesting. There are also a couple of other nice eating places near the hotel if you don't want to eat in central Rome or the hotel restaraunt.
WE removed the little juice bottles from our fridge and replaced it with our own bottle of champagne; we put the juice bottles back into the fridge before we checked out but they still tried to charge us €92 - for 8 small juices which we never even touched!!!
Final comment on prices is you have to pay MORE cash to use towels and loungers by the pool and there is no getting round this unless you bring towels from your room (which we did) and sit on the grass.
The hotel is a short cab ride from the Vatican. You can walk it but it's quite a hike, especially in the heat of the day.
We'd definitely go back there but hopefully on a business trip or when i've made enough $ not to be bothered by the cost of everything.

I've just returned from 4 days in Rome, staying at the Hilton Cavaleiri and I was extremely disappointed by the hotel and it's pricing policy.

Highlights include approx 30euro per day to use the indoor pool and gym and 18euro to rent a sun lounger for the day...plus the record for the most expensive Gin & Tonic in Rome (no wonder the bar was mostly empty).

I've stayed at 4/5 star hotels all over Europe and Asia and I if I am paying 4 star prices then I would expect 4 star services. Unless you are redeeming your Hilton honors and have to stay here or are prepared to pay for all of the "extras", you are really getting 3 star facilities and you should give the competition a serious look.

As for the hotel itself, the rooms were well kept and of a good size with a nice balcony. Good bed and pillows, but the industrial rubber mattress protector made for an uncomfortable nights sleep - rather bizarre and more pension hostel than posh hotel! Also, I was surprised to discover that there was no bath robe? If you must stay here, ask for a city view if you can get it, as the antenna at the rear of the hotel is huge and ugly.

Lots of marble, brass and mirrors abound in the impersonal lobby/lounge. Poolside or the terrace was much better for enjoying a relaxed drink.

Overall, I think this hotel just doesn't quite cut it and the pricing policy needs a rethink. Add to this the fact that hotel is 20 mins by cab from the centre of Rome (in favourabe traffic) and the wrong side of Rome from Fumico Airport and it starts to look a poor choice. There are plenty of other great hotels in this fantastic city. I certainly won't be staying here again.

Very nice hotel a little outside of Rome.
Stay at the club level if you choose this hotel.
Because everything you drink/ eat here is overpriced.

Some of the rooms have a fantatistic view over ROme.

It is perfect to do sightseeing in Rome and than relay at the big size pool.

A group of five of us stayed for 12 nights and loved the rooms, service and pool. We are Hilton Honors Gold members and were treated very well. Staff was friendly and helpful, even had a van to pick us up at the airport. The girls loved the evening turndown service. Although the hotel is located up on a hill over looking the city the free shuttle service was very convenient to a central area downtown. After a full day of sightseeing the pool was a wonderful place to be in the hot afternoons. There is an ATM on site and a rental car service. I do not recommend driving in Rome, its worse than New York or Los Angeles. The public transportation and taxi service is the way to go. The hotel restaurants were wonderful with great food and service but a little pricey. It is a hike to walk anywhere around the hotel and not really too much to see or do. The grounds around the hotel are beautifully maintained and relaxing to stroll through. We all would stay there again without hesitation.
