“....and relax...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

If you need a couple of hours break from the tourist madness - head up the hill to the park of the Villa Borghese. It's a big free park with room to stroll, art to see, music to listen to and - if the fancy takes you - segways to ride! Coming up here was one of my highlights of a long weekend after the madness of the tourist areas. Go on, treat yourself.

“Beautiful retreat in the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

A huge park, with needed shade in the summer and gorgeous scenery all year round. A perfect place for a break from all your running around.

“The central park of rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012

Totally worth walking up to the top! I suggest after the walk up that you go to one of the few cafes and set down with a espresso and/or water. You can see just about everything and it is a great photo opportunity. I highly suggest renting a bike to ride around the park so you can take advantage of the whole park without getting to tired because you walk around enough in rome. It's a great place for at the end of the day when you just want to have a moment to slow down and take a break from being so overwhelmed from probably from the touring the vatican, palatine hill, or colosseum, etc...

“A romantic walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Wonderful spot in Rome. Climb up the steps from Piazza del Popolo and you will have a beautiful view of the city; I was even lucky to find a busker playing guitar, which just fit in the atmosphere!

You can rent bikes, segways or rickshaws to get around right there, and also a boat to have a tour of the small lake.

Have a look at the "Orologio ad acqua", it's a clock projected by a friar back in the 19th century which works with a mechanism pulled by water. Pretty interesting.

Anyone who loves art, especially from Romanticism and Classicism, cannot miss this amazing place.
It is beautiful at any weather or time of the day!

“We walked all morning in the gardens”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

It may be 'off season' to travel to Rome in November, but I'm so glad we did. The gardens were so serene and beautiful, and the fall colors were breathtaking.
