“A Gem of a Neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 NEW

I had a wonderful afternoon in this neighborhood. It was an easy walk from the central piazzas and boasted cute shops and restaurants. It felt a little more authentic than being in the some of the more touristy piazzas. I would highly recommend this neighborhood for a couple hours one afternoon during your trip.

“A new taste of Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 NEW

We loved staying on this side of the river in Rome. We found some great restaurants and bars, and the people watching was always fun! Some nice shops and beautiful churches too. I recommend the Rick Steves walking tour of the area which gave us great insight into many of the things we would have otherwise walked right past. We'll be back!

“Nice evening at Trastevere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014 NEW

If you want to have a drink and dinner, go here
Its a nice place for young people to have a good time

Good place for couples and young people

Sit at a crowded dinner place which has music. Order house wine and local food.
Enjoy the evening later with a gelato from the crowded shops that sell it for 2euro each

“Just like your local hood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014 NEW

We recently came back from a 2 week vacation to Italy, which included Tuscany and Rome. It is our first visit to Rome and once I read the reviews and spoke to a few people, we made the decision to stay in Trastevere. Our accommodation was at a bed and breakfast. The streets, and restaurants are very "local" and neighborhoody, with folks all knowing each other and congregating at times to have dinner or drinks or chat in the street. Unfortunately prices did not convert too well in dollars because of the low value of dollar to euro. but overall the neighborhood is easily accessible from the neaby walking bridge you cross and is very easy to find your way in and out of the city center where all the touristy areas are. We ate almost every night in the area of Trastevere where the evening offered many opportunities for great wine and dine. Be careful, there a ton of homeless and beggers around the area, even sleeping in the nearby park. We got hassled by this homeless woman that followed us and woudln't leave us alone. yikes. Just be vigilant and go where the crowds are -

“Beautyfull”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2014 NEW

Trastevere its not far from city centre. you can take the bus to go there.. There are plenty of restaurants if you want to eat or bars if you want to have a drink or shops if you want to buy a souvenir. Its very beautyfull especially at night, you can get lost in the beautyfull alleys. Dont forget to visit piazza Santa Maria. I think is the better choice if you want to escape from city centre and have a great time.
