“Great place to eat and watch.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012

Especially in the evening a great place to watch all kinds of people. Superbe restaurants and pubs. Friday and Saturdays hardly any parking opportunities.

“The city comes alive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

Stayed for 4 nights, in this area and wish it had been more. A great hotel and the room was fantastic. We had a view of the italian night life, which bought a bit of Rome into our room :) It was great to watch the city go by. Breakfast was continental but i preferred the Italian Cornetto and Cappuccino. Enough choice for a king! Will visit again!

“a different Roman experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

The cobbled streets and medieval buildings are full of unique shops and workshops where you can find original creations by local artists, jewellers and tailors as well as the latest designer fashions.
There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants, just avoid the ones touting the infamous "tourist menu" and you'll be fine. One I'd recommend is Trattoria Gli Amici, a cooperative. Plenty of others offer typical Roman fare at reasonable prices.

“Don't miss this jewel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 30, 2012

Walking, eating, sightseeing, church watching, this place has it all.
Have been coming to Trastevere for 30 years. Never miss it. Top rated restaurant is Sabatini, In the main church square, but really, one can have an excellent in any of the 50 or so restaurants within walking distance from this excellent restaurant. To get a real look at Roman life, and a feeling of inclusiveness, don't miss this jewel.
Acturally, you can walk there in 15-20 minutes from the Vatican.
Fun restaurant, touristy, yet really fun is Da Mel Petacco. See my review of this restaurant. I wouldn't miss it. We go every time we go to Rome.

“Animated and cool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

Animated and cool neighboorhood crowded with young locals having fun! Centrally located and just a walking distance from all the major historical attractions. Full of bars and restaurants from all price ranges. Go there on a Friday or Saturday evening to enjoy the ambiance. The fun goes on until sunlight!
