“Lovely big space, with Christmas market in full swing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

This is a lovely long square (or a rectangle if you are being quadrilaterally correct!) Filled with Christmas market stalls, lots going on, we had a look round it a couple of times.

There is a toy shop at one end that had the biggest polar bear stuffed toy that I had ever seen in a christmasy window display (they had 3 window displays, they were all excellent).

One of the stalls was selling massive donuts (massive!) covered in nutella, we didn't have one but they looked original!

There were a few stalls selling miniatures figurines and nativity scenes these were most enchanting and we did buy a couple of them as momentos!

“One of the great piazzas of the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

Built on the ruins of the ancient Domitian Stadium and is enormous. It is like a great theater of beautiful buildings, cafes, spectacular fountains and the flow of people. It is full of tourists, people trying to sell you things, mimes, etc., but it is still magnificent and is particularly magical at dusk when the swallows form murmurations overhead.

“St Agnes Church rivals Saint Peters and is free and uncrowded”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 5, 2012

This innocuous and almost hidden church on the side near the magnificent Four Rivers fountain rivals the famous St Peters Basilica. From the outside t looks almost like a public building and is not immediately recognisable as a church. However, walk up the stairs, open the two separate doorways that look like they are closed, enter and be literally spellbound by the three dimensional sculptures embedded into the walls and ceilings, the elaborate decoration and the magnificent paintings. And ts all free.

“Great spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We happened to walk through and loved this place. There are a few great restaurants around the piazza to have some wine, great food, and people watch. Highly recommended.
