“Not good.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012 via mobile

Picked this place because we wanted to sit outside. That was the best thing about it. The food and the service was horrible. Sad that this was out first meal in rome. I have to think the good reviews came from employees because really the food was not good. My husband ordered a pasta dish that was really greasy. I ordered lamb chops that we're good flavor but full of fat so was only able to get like two good bites of lamb. Could not get the check fast enough. We had a woman help us and her demeanor was horrid. Only left a tip (10%) because I didn't want to give anybody reason to dislike Americans. Stay away.

“Delicious comfort food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

What a fantastic discovery on a rainy day! Hostaria Romanesca came highly recommended in the Lonely Planet guide, and that review did not disappoint! The prices were very reasonable, the food was homey and delicious, particularly the gnocchi. We spent a nice afternoon on the patio, sheltered from the rain, watching the Campo dei Fiori market takedown. We also noticed the waiter making some last-minute purchases from the slowly-closing market, most likely for the restaurant. Don't miss out on this place!

“Honest Roman food and Roman service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

The restaurant is very well located in Campo di Fiori, lovely to sit down and see people passing by. Service was quick and to the point. Food was lovely, we had dinner and lunch on two different occasions and we loved it!
Try the pasta cacio e pepe ( cheese and pepper..it is strong, but never though pasta could be so simple and tasty)
Enjoy it!!

“One of the best in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Great traditional Italian! Best lasagna and pasta carbonara in all of Italia. Excellent gnocchi, steak and chicken. Very reasonable and congenial staff including Luca and Andrea. Always an enjoyable experience of Italian home-cooking.

“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012 via mobile

Prices were the least expensive in Campo di Fiori. I was happy with the tortellini that I ordered, for it's price (8€) it was good, my boyfriend ordered ravioli and you can make it just as good or better at home. the service was below average, with unhappy waiter when we didn't order drinks (I don't like paying for water and you can get a bottle of wine for half the price at a store, which is generally the case). We were charged for bread we purposefully didn't eat (so not to get charged), oh well the bread charge turned into the tip. wouldn't go back, but it worked for dinner on a budget.
