“Friendliest Service We Found”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

There are lots of gelataria, many with great gelato, and a wider selection than here. But here the person who makes the gelato is on hand, they are friendly and fair (tasting is part of the process, prices are good).

“Best gelato we had in italy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

We traveled through venice, florence, siena, san gimignano, pisa and rome... Tried several gelato places in each city and this was by far the best! Super friendly and helpful staff, and we were fortunate to meet the owner as well who was very nice and personally made the ricotta flavors we loved so much!

“Great!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

The best icecream I had in Italy! After I walked out of the small gelateria and tasted the icecream I just wanted to go back and have some more! Really friendly staff!

“Best Gelato we had”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Owner offers many free tastes of a huge selection of gelatos. Price was very fair (approx 3-4 euro for medium to large). COuldn't fault it

“arancia rossa to die for”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

I love sorbetto. The owner makes a blood orange sorbetto that i could eat three times a day - tart, the very essence of arancia rossa. Why am i going on about this? Because I've just spent 3weeks in umbria, florence tand venice, and was unable to find a single gelateria that had this flavor on offer. His other sorbettos are likewise excellent. You can have as many samples as you need to make your decision. The gelatos were all very good, and he does have a few unusual choices. For my money, Il Dolce Sorriso deserves the raves for his superb sorbettos and his generous hand with the samples. The shop is small and there are just a few chairs outside. But, there's a nice park across the street where you can enjoy your purchase.
