Honestly 5 stars is not high enough for this restaurant. We visited Rome with the intention of dining at local restaurants off the beaten path. This fit the bill and then some! We had 6 evenings in Rome and on our 4th evening we found Sora Lucia and did not have dinner anywhere else in Rome for the rest of our trip.
The environment was everything we Americans would expect in a local Italian restaurant. With seating capacity for less than 30, nestled down a quiet side street and run by Lucia and her son....it was perfect.
When you visit you absolutely MUST HAVE the bruschetta....it is fabulous! Both my husband and I had the lasagna which was unlike any lasagna I have ever had before. Again, fabulous! My 8 year old became hooked on the noodles with clams & mushrooms and my 10 year old adored the ravioli. There are two veal dishes on the menu which my husband and I shared (to leave room for the dessert).....one was a scaloppini and the other saltimbocca. Both were wonderful. My preference was the saltimbocca. Finally, dessert and there isn't a bad choice. I prefered the panna cotta, my husband the tort, my oldest the creme caramel and my youngest the homemade cake. All were simply delicious!
Bottomline, when in Rome find this restaurant and dine there often. We're planning a trip back just for Sora Lucia's!
