“Nice hotel but could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

The wife and I arrived at the hotel. Outside the hotel looks very clean and professional. The receptionist was polite and professional. The rooms was clean but did lack any facilities in the room for making any hot or cold drinks. The hotel has a bar but was never open, if all you want is a beer then the receptionist will get it for you but obviously can't be bothered making hot chocolate which my wife wanted at 9pm. The bar was never open from the day we arrived no matter what time it was. There is a free shuttle service to and from the metro line at various times, however it is only a 10 minute walk there which is a plus with regards to the location. Getting good around the hotel is limited therefore for more choice in food you will need to head to spagna or near there. If wanting food around Battistini, then the pizza's at the cafe's were extremely nice and the bottles of 660ml were 2.20 which is cheaper than the main tourist areas in Rome. In Battistini pizza is priced by the the kilo and most full pizza's weigh about 500g which makes it a great way of mixing 4 slices of different pizza's as your not paying per pizza but rather by weight. All I. All, I wouldn't come back yo this hotel since fir me and my wife require good room facilities such as a kettle and tea bags and coffee etc as well as a proper working bar so we can get drinks at any time. We only came here due to a toy and wouldn't come back here on our own terms due to the lack of some services at the hotel. Don't expect too much customer service from the staff.

While this place is nice and new, the location is really poor! Don't be lured by the promise of the free shuttle bus to and from the station. This service doesn't run frequently and a cab ride to the nearest Metro station is just about a hefty 10 Euros. One of the cab drivers actually got lost trying to find the hotel!
Dinner was a decent serve of lasagna with fresh green salad which was the highlight of this stay.
The rooms have paper thin walls so hope that you don't get stuck with noisy neighbours or else sleep may not be an option! Forget noisy neighbours, the reception staff was loud (our room was on the ground floor) and we could hear their own commotion way past midnight.
As we were on a tour, timing was important and even though our tour leader had confirmed with management that breakfast would be ready by 7.00am the following day, it was 7.30am before the staff got their act together.
All in all, stay somewhere close to transport links unless you fancy a 20+ minute winding walk to and from the Metro station.

Room Tip: Do not stay on the ground floor as you will be able to hear the noisy night staff at reception and t...

The bathroom sewerage was blocked. We had a flood in the bathroom. I reported it 4 times. Every time the receptionist advised that someone will come soon to take care of this. We left the hotel and there was nothing done about it. Lying, cheating, so unprofessional.

We selected this hotel as it had onsite parking, offered a shuttle bus to the metro station and was reasonably priced. Our experience was disappointing. First the staff - most were offhand and the woman at the reception was unhelpful and uninterested. During the evening we had water dripping off the roof onto the side of the bed and floor. I went to the reception to ask for help. She replied - it must be the airconditioner (and end of story). After some prompting, she came to the room and said she would turn the airconditioner off. We sat in the room with the door open waiting for her to come back and check. She didn't, so eventually I went out and let her know that water was still dripping. She shrugged, before eventually asking if we wanted to change rooms - which we did. In the morning my daughter told me she'd shivered all night as there wasn't a blanket on her bed. So after returning the next evening I went back to the reception to ask for a blanket - disturbing some video/youtube watching. The same woman said there should be one in the wardrobe, but there wasn't. She did look in some other rooms and there were no spare blankets. She said we'd have to wait until the guy who worked later in the evening came on shift. I said my daughter was about to go to sleep and couldn't she get one off a bed in another room. She said she'd look, expecting that she'd bring one to the room. After waiting some time, I went back to the reception and she said she'd found one and had left it on a chair for me to collect! So, lousy service. Breakfast was also very limited. Finally, the shuttle bus that runs to the metro station only starts at 9.30am in the morning and again late at night. Not particularly helpful if you want to get started before then. On the positive side - the rooms were clean and good value for money.

We ended up really happy with choosing this hotel.
The rooms are not that big, but they are really cosy and clean. And our room stayed clean during our stay.
The staff was nice and friendly, helpful with all kind of information we needed.
The hotel itself is located in a quiet area and we could get a really good sleep at night.
The breakfast is not rich at all but considering this is a fairly small hotel, it makes sense. It's tasty though.
A lot of people consider the location as a disadvantage but I believe this is not that bad. The subway is not that far and they have the shuttle service each morning.
I would warmly recommend this hotel! It's a great value for the money spent!

Inexpensive and tidy room. Good service in general terms. Kind recepcionists, always willing to help.
The flush didn't work properly always but I managed to get the knack. The air conditioning control didn't work either. Poor variety of breakfast. One of the waitresses didn't clean the tables and you had to do it yourself.
You have a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Perfect to warm up before going sightseeing in that beautiful city. In 10 more minutes you're in the very center.
If you want a room closer to the center and without these minor problems (from my standpoint) you'll have to pay a higher price and you'll most likely experience other minor problems.

Inside, fine: modern decor, nice rooms, functional breakfast. The consideration here is how much you are prepared to travel if on foot in exchange for a much lower rate than a centrally located hotel. The metro is very rapid, so once on board, 15-20minutes into the central spots. But the walk from Battistini to the hotel was a good 20 minutes and inadvisable in heat.
