“When size doesn't matter.........”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

Small rooms, small bathroom and small shower. There is no space wasted here. But having said that it has everything you need. It is clean and comfortable and well located. A roof area that's great for an afternoon quiet time and breakfast has a reasonable array and is overall good.
And yes I would stay here again even if the bed is a little hard and there is a lift like ding dong sound every minute or so that never stops.
Staff are polite and helpful.

Room Tip: Remember to ask for that extra pillow

The hotel was very nice and modern (no wash cloths). Close to Metro station and train station. Spotlessly clean. Elevators held more than 3 people. Double room was about the size of a regular hotel room in the U. S.

This hotel is within 10 minute walking distance from Termini and 5 minutes of Opera metro station. It is location next to the Opera House. Modern design and rooms are adequate in size. Rooms have safes that will hold a laptop. Wifi was included. Restaurant is an additional charge but there are many places to eat meals located within minutes of the hotel. Professional staff that speak a variety of languages. Safe location with key card entry. My second stay at this hotel.

We visit Rome for 3 days, the hotel location is good and close to the Metro, the facility is great while having everything you need on site. Very clean and comfort.
The staff was very friendly and helpful trying to do their best to help.
We had a family room very comfortable for 5 persons.

The quality and comfort of this hotel are average by western standards, but I would rate this as an above-average accomodation in the budget hotel range. With Rome's inflated prices, this is a safe bet but there may be better deals to be found in this area of the city within the same price range.

Bed comfort was horrible. Room size and cleanliness were good. Extras (like the onsite laundry and rooftop garden) were outstanding.

RomeGR, Responsabile relazioni con la clientela at iQ Hotel Roma, responded to this review, September 20, 2013
Dear Sirs,

It is with great concern that we have read your review. We are especially sorry to understand that the concept which iQ expresses in its style did not come through. Unfortunately you do not offer many elements to understand why you consider us “average by western standards”.
Said this, we would like to describe once more our concept so that future clients may make an informed choice.

iQ is not a “common” four star hotel as it would be expected in an historical city such as Rome. When we opened back in 2010 we had a completely different vision to what we were going to make of iQ as a hotel. The main idea was to offer our clients the possibility to enjoy their stay and the city with the knowledge that they could chose exactly what was needed at the hotel. As explained many other times, and as described on our website, iQ aims to offer a high quality accommodation without the additional costs which normal hotels add due to all the extras which they add to the room package. On the contrary, iQ gives Guests the possibility to chose what to add; for example if the like to have a buffet breakfast in the morning this can be added on top of the basic rate instead of being obliged to include it even when they are not going to consume it. Another example can be the use of the private bar products; this is one of the most expensive services that a hotel offers as part of the accommodation, however, most people do not even use them. We thought that by leaving it empty for the guests to use it freely as they please, could bring far more valued and usefulness to it. Vending machines are available on all floors so that only if Guests require something can buy it, or they can even choose to buy external products. They do not offer only drinks or snacks but also any items which they might have left home, such as umbrellas or toothbrushes.

Regarding the bed, we are sorry that you are only now expressing your discomfort with it, although you are not telling us in which regards; however, having known about it during your stay it would have been our care to find a solution to your distress.

Most Guests seem to grasp our idea and appreciate these possibilities. Also we would like to underline that by Italian standards we are a 4 star hotel. Rooms might be considered on the small side compared to the American or Asian standards, however most downtown hotels do not offer such different accommodation compared to iQ; also all rooms are described on our website and offer clear photos and sizes so that clients may understand what they are buying. Furthermore, the rates we offer are always decided based on those of our competitors in the same area; as a matter of fact most of the times in high season we are even more convenient than them.

Rome for 3 nights from the 27th July 2013. Perfect for city break, nice and quiet location close to Subway and Termini (central train station - if you use the trains for airport etc. ).Nearest metro stations area Termini and Repubblica. There´s also bus stops for hop on - hop off sightseeing busses a block from the hotel opposite of Museo Nazionale Romano and on the other side of Termini Train Station on Via Marsala.it´s easy to explore the city by foot, e.g. way to Trevi Fountain is very walkable.
Best of all the room Great bathroom, very clean and efficient. Service at reception was friendly, polite and helpful all times. They recommended us very good restaurant around the hotel There is a fantastic corner street vender on the block with beer, water, wine fruit etc...

I highly recommend iQ Hotel Roma and will definitely stay here again on our next holiday in Rome!

When being next time to Rome we'll return to IQ hotel - probably it's the best feedback to the hotel :-) I've chosen it after reading lots of reviews on tripadvisor - I do believe the best of them are true. Hope everybody will enjoy the hotel's hospitality as we did
