“Bella Babuino”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2013

We stayed five nights at this first rate hotel and yearned for more! Staying at Babuino 181 felt more like staying with friends at our own guest house than being in a hotel. We stayed in the Patrizi suite in the new annex across the street. Still perfect, no inconvenience. . I loved the ample sunlight coming from windows I could throw open for day and shutter to blackout for night. I loved having natural sunlight in the bathroom! The bathroom counter had plenty of space for toiletries, a great hair dryer with nozzle , luxurious bath and shower. We had our own private rooftop terrace with distant view to the Basilica of St. Peter . The views were charming to gaze at terra cotta tiled roofs nearby. Very quiet, very private.
The room was perfect, the hotel service warm, friendly and so accommodating in every way. We had a lovely fresh breakfast in the hotel roof terrace and complimentary cocktails there at 6 pm.
All the staff , Teodora and crew went out of their way to help with lost luggage and answer all questions! GO!walk nearby on lovely Margutta street.

My husband and I stayed in a standard room at Babuino 181 in May 2012 and it was fabulous! We have been to Rome several times and have had a really hard time finding a hotel that was new and modern and in a good walking location- but this was both. The hotel is small- 14 rooms and I think just 2 or 3 on each floor, but each room feels very private. Very cool layout and design and bathroom. There is a bar/coffee bar/shared space on the rooftop (no bartender, maybe honor system?) We didn't get anything but just looked around and sat on the comfy furniture. The hotel is just a few feet away from the Piazza del Poppolo and the metro station there, and about a ten-15 minute walk to the Spanish Steps. Service was great and friendly, I highly recommend this hotel. And there was a Nespresso machine in the room!

The location near the Piazza del Popolo and a taxi stand is terrific. We comfortably walked to the Vatican, Villa Borghese, Trastevere, and the shopping area bounded by Via del Babuino, Via del Corso, and Via Frattina. Teodora and Vincenzo at the front desk were exceptionally helpful, but that can be said for the entire staff from the manager to the turn-down service. The 1st floor lounge and the 4th floor breakfast, "happy hour", patio area are a big pluses.

Spent 2 nights here last week and had a wonderful time. The location of the hotel couldn't be better and the staff are really excellent- friendly and professional. We dealt mainly with Teadora who was lovely but really they were all fabulous. Our restaurant reservations were confirmed within minutes. The complimentary drinks served on the roof terrace early evening were a nice touch- and the car service offered to and from the airport was great value and eliminated a lot of hassle. We'll definitely be going back.

Thanks to Trip Advisor for leading us to this hotel. We loved everything about it - location, helpful staff, large modern room and bath, free Wifi, breakfast and wine on the rooftop terrace. We've been to Rome many times, and this was the best hotel yet. Since I again threw my three coins in the fountain, we'll be back, and staying at the Babuino 181.

We loved this hotel! It is the first time I can remember my husband actually saying that he liked a hotel! It's a contemporary gem tucked away in a perfect location in Rome near the Spanish Steps and the equivalent to New York's Madison Avenue! Designer stores....wonderful (and reasonable) places to eat and the hotel itself is great! It is a luxury suite accommodation. The rooms are large and modern and they include a wonderful rooftop breakfast each morning as well as a delightful happy hour from 6-9PM. The staff is friendly and helpful and I would highly recommend this place! Than you to the many previous TripAdvisor reviews that helped me make this selection! It was well worth it and I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel. We enjoyed every moment of it. Perfect room, perfect location, perfect service. Initially, they did not have our room ready by 2 pm, so they apologized and upgraded our room to a bigger one. It was my birthday and as a pleasant surprise they send a campaign and fruits to our room. What can I say our last stop in Rome was very pleasant!
