As a first time visitor to Italy, with very limited time because we were on a cruise, we wanted to see as much as possible. We took the advice of a friend and booked two tours through driverinrome, rather than taking the cruise ship excursions that we usually took. We were not disappointed. At both ports our guide was waiting for us with a sign that was easy to spot. That eased our anxiety immediately. Our group of 8 ranged in age from 53 to 83, so not everyone wanted to do exactly the same thing. Not a problem. In Pisa only two of us wanted to climb the steps to the top of the leaning tower--our guide took care of the other six with strolling in the courtyard and shopping. In Florence we saw more than we ever imagined we could--and had a great stop for pizza and gelato. After a full 8 hours, we were back at our ship right on schedule, and paid the balance of our fee in euros as agreed. Never had a problem. The same was true in Rome. Our guide first gave us an overview tour of the city with much interesting commentary. Then we were whisked to the front of the lines at the Colosseum and at the Vatican because of our "skip the line" tickets purchased for us by driverinrome. The lines were hideously long--we certainly wouldn't have had time to see all we did without those special tickets. Today's lunch was lasagna at a wonderful place our guide chose, followed by delicious Italian pastries. In the afternoon we took time for shopping, for touring more cathedrals, for tossing coins into Trevi Fountain, for climbing the Spanish Steps, and for admiring the beauty of this ancient city. This Texan recommends driverinrome without reservation. They were all we hoped for and more.
