Given the other reviews I have to believe the head chef was on vacation because this may be the worst meal I have ever had, and that takes into consideration the food in my college freshmen dorm. My girlfriend and I split each of the 5 items that we ordered off of the menu so I feel like I got a good cross section of the lack of culinary skill exhibited in this establishment. We started with both the tuna tartare and sea bass carpaccio. Both dishes were expensive, boring and lacked any flavor. Next we spilt the pasta with clam sauce. Once again we couldn't discern any flavor. The sauce was totally out of balance, like half the ingredients were missing (shallots, onions, garlic, clam juice, red pepper, etc come to mind), the only ones I could discern were a little bit of flat leaf parsley, clams, and some type of oil or butter of marginal quality. If they idea was to make the sauce austere then mission accomplished but I would suggest that this is a bad idea. My own version of the dish is 10x better. Next we had the salt encrusted sea bass for an eye popping 80 euros with some grilled mixed vegetables as the side. Both dishes were horrendous. The sea bass was so dry it should have been called fish jerkey and the grilled vegetables lacked any flavor and were dried out because they were not appropriately prepared to be put on the grill. My bill came in at stunning 180 euros which included a 25-30 euro bottle of Ceretto Arneis.
The only positive notes were the wine list, a decent selection of the both Italian and French whites that would go well with seafood, and the freshness of the fish, and shellfish.
