This ended up being a really great place for us to stay during our trip to Rome. The location is incredible...you are right on Via dei Condottii which is the heart of the shopping district of Rome. You are walking distance to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, the metro station, and a taxi cab hub. You can basically get anywhere from this place fast by walking, taking a cab, or taking the metro. It is quiet and the rooms are clean and well decorated. However, the quarters are a little cramped and there are no windows on the internal rooms. I am pretty sure there are windows on the rooms facing the street. They are located on the 4th floor and there IS an elevator BUT it's dimensions are like 3x3 feet and it took forever to come. So we ended up hiking up the stairs most of the time. As far as location it gets and A++. Cleanliness A+.

Now about the service. It is pretty much non-exsistent. Not that they were rude but that it is literally non-exsistent. There was never anybody around. The only time we ever saw anyone was the morning we arrived to check in and get our rooms and in the morning for breakfast. Other than that you are pretty much on your own. The lady that was there when we arrived and delivered our breakfast spoke very little english and had a hard time communicating with us. So if you like a concierge to give you advice and make reservations for you don't stay here.

So, in summation: DO stay here if you want to be in a great location and don't mind not having a 24 hour service desk. Also be warned this is not a lux B&B so you dont have any "special" amenities.

DONT stay here is you are used to 5 star fancy hotels with butlers

I read the other review and well I think they forgot this was B&B .....not a 5 star hotel.
We travelled with a group of family and friends and advised we would arrive at 8am in the morning and could we get an early check in.....we booked all the 4 rooms at the B&B.
Thankfully they were awaiting our arrival and had all the rooms prepared for our early check in for no additional cost.
We were advised to call the kitchen each day on the phone in the lobby when we were ready for Breakfast.
We were also shown the machine to print out the cheap internet access voucher each time we needed to use the internet. We were also offered a computer to use if we did not have one. We were also shown on the phone in the lobby the quick dial for assistance when the B&B was unattended.
Ludamilla who greeted us on arrival could not have been more helpful.....she made sure we were all settled ensured our second stay was correctly booked and she spoke various languages which amazed me!
The beds were comfortable, the shower operated with no issues if you selected just the standard shower head.
Breakfast was simple but delicious for a good start to getting in and around Rome.
We stayed in Room 1 which I think is by far the best.....it has a window/balcony (not walk out balcony) that looks onto the street and if you look right you do get a nice view of the Spanish steps.
We left Rhona's rooms to travel to the Amalfi Coast to get married. On our return to Rome we stayed again at the Rhona's Rooms .....Ludamilla had arranged champagne for our arrival and left a congratulations note on our pillow.
WE LOVED staying at this property it was boutique and perfect for what we needed. We could wander through all the shops easy distance to Trevi fountain and some of our favourite osteria's and restaurants.
Also Cafe Greco is just across the road from Rhona's rooms which is the oldest Cafe in Rome ....now they know how to make a good coffee and the locals know it!
There are four flights of stairs to access Rhona's rooms but this is not so bad since you have to work off all the good Italian food, there is a small lift as well.
I would have no hesitation is staying here again and again.
Just remember its a B and B and not a hotel with reception staff and porters its a good base to get into the heart of Rome!

The price of this B&B is amazing considering the cost of accommodation in Rome and its prime location.

We stayed at Rhona’s Rooms for 5 nights on the last part of our 2 weeks holiday in Italy.
It was advertised as a 5 star B & B and although I have stayed in Rome on 3 previous occasions and aware what you pay for in Rome and what you receive is not always the best value, did have an expectation of some type of service.

They quote in their literature “At Rhona's Rooms you will find the comfort and refinement of a high level hotel. “ They might have a 5 star rating based on a shower with a radio in it, but what they give in service and attitude is on a par to a 2 star hotel.

We were asked on our first day what time we would like breakfast, we requested 8.30 a.m. to which we had to then call everyday at 8.50 a.m. to see where our breakfast was, as it is served in your room. Its fairly basic but by the time it arrived you were just grateful to get one!

In addition they advertise free wi fi This was our biggest frustration. What they mean is you have to ask for a 2 hour voucher and every time it runs out ask again for another one. Both myself and my husband brought laptops and got the particular feeling it was not welcomed to ask for internet vouchers each day, especially 2. In addition you have to plan your internet usage to ask for the voucher at breakfast as it’s the only time someone is available to help you. It was really frustrating having to keep asking for another voucher and they were not given out willingly.

They also quote in their literature: “The helpful staff will be at your disposal to let you spend an unforgettable stay in Rome. “ The only time you see anyone is at breakfast or on arrival, as someone comes to the building to meet you. Their idea of making your stay unforgettable is to ask you if you would like a map! The rest of the time there is no real service if you need it. There is no formal reception. If the staff, when they were there, had been more helpful and customer service focussed it may have made our stay in Rome more memorable. A shame as I believe you should match your service to what you charge and advertise and this is clearly lacking.

Also there is no mini bar, although its advertised. On the first day just 2 bottles of water and 2 plastic cups, which were never replaced the following 4 days.

We asked on our 4th day for another map, we were asked why we needed one when we were leaving the following day. The map is actually the type you get free from the local tourist board.

The 13-jet hydro-massage shower, Turkish steam bath, alternating hot/cold (Scottish) shower, aromatherapy and radio is a complete pain. One day there was no hot water and had to wash in a freezing cold shower, only to be told I had not used it properly by the lady at breakfast, when in fact there was a problem with the hot water. Each jet system only works one at a time and there is not enough pressure for it to work properly. The radio is awful. It would be better just to have a normal shower.

In addition:

• Small toiletries provided first day but never given for the remainder of the stay
• Also the beautiful sink had a great big crack in it and had not been replaced.
• The double bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together and not joined so they moved apart and away from the wall.

Also advertising a view of the Spanish Steps is an exaggeration, if you lean out of the window you cannot see them as the neighbours balcony is in the way.

Out of the 3 B & Bs we stayed at in Italy this was by far our least favourite and it was the customer service and lack of helpfulness that let the place down. We stayed at a place in Florence where someone was only available until 1.00 p.m. each day but they were far more helpful and wanting to assist you. May be we were spoilt in Florence as they delivered everything advertised, where Rome they did not.

If you want somewhere clean to put your head down and to explore Rome on a short break this is a really convenient and a great location on Via Condotti. If you want to stay somewhere that offers 5 star service then go somewhere else.
