“Perfect location!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

The perfect location for a stay in Rome! Nothing better than walking out the front door or dinning at the rooftop restaurant and seeing the colosseum!! It's so close!! Awesome! Some of the rooms also have this view. Not to mention you are two blocks away from the hop on and off bus which is an excellent way to see and travel through Rome. Staff was very very helpfull and accommodating. Hats off to them! Would stay here again, no doubt!

This hotel is fantastic!

From the moment we arrived we were treated like VIPs, with welcome drinks on the roof terrace and personally being shown to our room. The room itself was gorgeous, very clean, spacious and had everything you could wish for.

We had a meal on the roof terrace which was very expensive, but for a special occasion very much worth it as the food was superb and the waiters all so friendly and helpful. One other highlight was the view from the terrace over the Colosseum and Palatine Hill behind, it was worth the money just for that!!

The location means you are slightly away from the city centre, but the walk is short and through the forum so you don't mind so much! Besides it meant the hotel was very quiet at night, and it had quite a few restaurants and bars just accross the road so you didn't have to wander too far at night if you didn't want to.

This was by far all worth it.
From an e mail, they organized a chauffer from the airport, my tours & my guide. Everyone paid special attention and even personal service.
Got an upgrade to their executive suite and complimentary champagne & fruits on arrival.
Even the GM stopped by to say hello.
I'll be back!!!

Room Tip: Always advise before you arrive what you need and they will work it all out for you. That way you kn...

We chose this purely for location with little idea of what we would find, so expectations were a little shy of average. We also tried to book the restaurant in advance as we were arriving late, but were told it was full (by the restaurant). What a surprise when we arrived. Spotless room, great Italian welcome and nothing was too much trouble - including a table in the restaurant with its stunning views over the Colliseum. Atmosphere, service and food all top notch and it was repeated over breakfast in the morning. The parade of old fiat 500s that were going around the Colliseum topped it all off - we were tempted to believe the hotel had arranged that too so attentive were they. Oh, and the view from the room too....The price belies the quality - so we are now booked in for a longer stay, I can't believe they can repeat it, but we'll see.

We stayed at the Palazzo Manfredi for 4 nights with the kids. We wanted to stay in a decent hotel as it is a challenge to find a hotel in Rome with a decent size room. The rooms were not too small with all the amenities. There is a free wifi throughout the hotel which was very handy as well. The restaurant is on the top floor facing the Colosseum so the night view and the day view was very pretty. Dinner was amazing. Breakfast is not included but we decided to try it on our first morning. It is VERY expensive. €30 a head for the continental.. even for the kids.. We opted that out for the rest of our stay. There are cafes very close to the hotel.

Service was great but a bit noisy in the mornings when the housekeeping starts to walk around in the corridor. The central heating was not really doing it's job as our room was quite cold although we adjusted the controls and the kids room was constantly boiling although we had the heating switched off.

Overall, we had a nice stay with staff being very helpful.

My husband and I were in the middle of our honeymoon when we came to Rome. I have been to Rome several times, but usually stay near the Spanish Steps. I feel so glad to have found this hotel. It is located in the Cielo area which is next to the Colliseum. It is the BEST area to have as a home base. Everything is within 10-15 minutes to walk to.

But forget the location... the hotel itself is simply gorgeous! It is 5 star through and through. The rooms are modern and the bathrooms are top notch, all newly renovated. The staff was absolutely full class and service... they did everything for us, from booking dinners, to getting our train tickets, to obtaining a simm card for me to contact our next hotel. I could go on and on, it really was one of the nicest experiences I have had in a long time. In particular, Bruno Papaleo, the GM was entirely attentive to every need that we had. In terms of what your honeymoon should be, this was the perfect picture.

The best part of the hotel is the rooftop. It literally overlooks the Colliseum and has the best views in all of Rome. Even if you don't stay here, at least go to the restaurant. it's called the Aroma and is, by NYC standards, top of the line. You have breakfast every morning here as well. I have recommended this hotel to anyone who is even thinking of going to Italy. It is a must. Absolutely fabulous hotel.

This Hotel is a 5-star by European standards, and I was prepared for a small room. Our room was definitely 5-star quality by American standards, as well. The Staff was attentive and always professional and courteous. The breakfast upstairs was always delicious with fresh fruit. I sprained my ankle during our visit and the kitchen staff was helpful in keeping my icepack at the ready (and always cold) and fresh ice delivered upon request.

We also left our summer hats behind as we had no room to pack them returning to the U.S.; the Hotel emailed asking if we would like them shipped home.

We will stay here, when we return to Rome. No hesitation. Our compliments to Giacamo, Paul and all the wonderful Staff for a great stay.
