“Amazing setting, perfect for couples”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

We stayed with a small group of friends and couldn't recommend it highly enough. The rooms are spacious and very luxurious with big, modern bathrooms and showers with plenty of quality toiletries, bath robes, towels and slippers provided. The hotel is set in some beautiful gardens and you can sit outside in the sun and eat your breakfast with the smell of fresh flowers in the air. The breakfast was a vast selection of breads, pastries, biscuits, cakes, meats and cheeses so you won't leave for the day feeling hungry which is essential if you're planning on seeing the plethora of attractions throughout Rome. The hotel is set just outside Trastevere (up quite a steep hill) so you may want transportation in and out of Rome or you could walk into the City centre in 20-30 minutes. Trastevere is also a really nice little suburb of Rome well worth a visit for it's good food and fun atmosphere. It's a 10 minute walk from the hotel and includes the lovely Santa Maria Piazza, plenty of bars and restaurants and is great at the weekends when the locals are out. Thanks, Sante for being so welcoming and accommodating during our stay and we really hope to see you again!

Although we have been to Italy many times, this was our first time staying in Rome. The villa is a phenomenal property located in the heart of Rome. While Rome can be hectic with the myriad cars vying for the last spot in traffic, returning "home" to the Villa Magnolia Relais after a long day of sightseeing is truly relaxing. The property sits on a large hill surrounded by tall trees with a nicely manicured lawn and garden. Since there are only a few rooms, the property is very quiet and private. We stayed in one of the larger suites with two bedrooms. Not only was the suite spotlessly clean, it was stocked with fancy Ferragamo toiletries and drinks and food in the kitchen. In addition, the breakfast is one of the best we've had in Italy. I cannot stress enough how relaxing of a stay we had at this property. No five star hotel accommodation can compare to the amount of relaxation we enjoyed while staying at the Magnolia.

I cannot speak highly enough of this lovely villa in the peace of the outskirts of Rome, but still close enough to walk to major sites. The gardens were stunning with the fragrance of jasmin surrounding you. The room was spacious and very beautifully decorated and the bathroom was huge with all modern fixtures and fittings. Everything you could hope for a comfortable stay was there and Sante was so helpful in assisting us to make the most of our few days and also helping us to book our train ride to Perugia which was our next stop. The breakfast was different every day and more that enough to sustain us through to lunch and even beyond. Trastevere offered us a huge selection of good restaurants all within a pleasant walk. Cannon wait to return!

Room Tip: This trip was a surprise birthday present, I cannot therefore comment on value as I do not know the...

All the charms of a countryside villa, plus the comfort and service, and major hotspots just a short walk away. The ideal nest, with fragrant gardens to start and end the day in a city that can take a lot of energy in between.

We returned to Rome after a fall last year which made us return to the states for surgery and stayed once again at Villa Magnolia Relias. Once again , we were SO pleased with our accomodations there. The villa is awesome and the service is just as good. We stayed there May 3 - 6th ,2013. Our trip covered 7 hotels in 19 days and we still love Villa Magnolia the best! The furnishings are very authenic and very high quality - every little detail is well thought out. We would not change one thing about the place. When I lay back and close my eyes and want to go somewhere in my mind - this is that place ! It is off the beaten path and we did take a few taxi's into town at a low cost ( 10 E ) , but it was so worth it to get a quiet relaxing place to relax after a long day sightseeing .A perfect oasis. The food at breakfast was great - just perfect to start your day just with a good variety to choose from. The owner Sante is a wonderful host - going out of his way to help with suggestions , calling for taxis , sending a car to pick you up etc. If we ever return to Rome , we will definatly stay here again !! We can not say enough about this place - it is fantastic !

After our extensive research on Trip Advisor we decided upon Villa Magnolia Relais for our bank holiday break in May.
Although the weather could have been better, everything about this place was perfect.
Before booking, any questions we had were answered by email very quickly by the owner, Sante.
The villa is in a quiet location but close enough to walk to all the sites. We walked everywhere.
It is situated very close to the centre of Trastevere where we were advised to have dinner on at least one of our evenings rather than going over the river. We ended up having dinner in Trastevere every evening. We thought it was a fabulous place.
We had a lovely quiet room and the breakfasts were very good.
We loved Rome and when we return we wouldn't stay anywhere else but Villa Magnolia.

Beautiful setting, very clean and comfortable rooms - excellent beds! Bathrobe and slippers provided, nice toiletries etc. Eating breakfast outside is wonderful, and selection of breads, meat, cheese pastries etc all great. Very quiet setting as you are out of the centre, which may be a problem for some - you may need to rely on taxis but they come very quickly and are not expensive. Owner nice and helpful. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
