The Basilica of San Giorgio in Velabro is right near the Arch of Janus, not far from the banks of the Tiber River, and it is within a complex of Republican-era pagan temples associated with the port of Rome. The ancient Arcus Argentariorum is attached to the side of the church's façade and is worth a visit of itself. The present church structure was built in the 7th century. If you visit, be sure to visit also the nearby Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin and, of course, don't miss the impressive Arch of Janus.
