“stayed here twice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2013

stayed July 2011.

beautifully renovated boutique hotel. free coffee and tea in the lobby area and the staff were all gorgeous. room we had was cosy but enough for 2 people. internet wifi not so strong while in the room, but fine in the lobby area. bathroom was a good size and nice touch with the bvlgari amenities. lobby was nicer then the room.

spa was ok.

location is on the gentrified via veneto, easy walk to Villa Borghese, otherwise a short walk down to the metro stop. we were able to walk to most sights, 20+mins, but it was fine as every street along the way had character and charm.

afew pastry shops along via veneto to grab breakfast as an alternative to the hotel, otherwise restaurants become alive in the afternoon for dinner.

This is my first review of any hotel. I have never been motivated to write a review of any kind, good or bad.... until now. Usually when a hotel claims to be 5 star, it almost always is closer to 2 or 3 star, but not in this case. The Jumeirah Grand Hotel on the Via Veneto in Rome is truly 1st class and 5 star in every category. The rooms are beautiful, modern, well appointed. The staff is friendly and helped us with everything from tour tickets to printing boarding passes. It would appear this staff, from the doormen to the managers, genuinely likes what they do and that translates into possibly the best hotel experience we have ever had. Although every person on staff made us feel like we were the most important people there, I want to mention Naijade (pronounced Ni-ah-day) at the concierge desk who spent a lot of time handling many details for us. Thank you for a great vacation.

Room Tip: We had a deluxe room with a view of Via Veneto.

We recently stayed 6 nights and the service was impeccable. It was a beautiful hotel so clean and very much a five star. I am usually quite fussy and like a luxury hotel and this offers just that. Although a bit of a walk to main attractions, ROME however is spread out and all hotels offer different location attractions. I was ill the first 3 days of our trip and reception promptly organised a doctor to attend to me at the hotel. The staff are fantastic and I have no problems recommending this hotel. It is not cheap but u get what u pay for .... Definitely would come back.

Room Tip: Carry a travel iron as irons are not available in any Italian hotel.

We traveled as a couple with our parents and spent 3 nights there in mid-April.
The rate was around 450 Euro per night, before tax. Too expensive and it did not transform to a total 5 star experience.

Pros:
New facility, great hotel, clean, 5 star, no doubt. Nice and quiet room.
Fancy SPA and gym. Pool is too small for swimming but good enough as a SPA.
Top notch buffet breakfast, good quality of food and good service there most of the time.
Very friendly staff with good English.

Cons:
Even though the staff was well-trained and polite most of the time. There were still times and personnel showing the impatience of explaining things to the hotel guests, especially at the Concierge, where most of the tourists would ask for detailed information.

PS. I figured that overall the customer service in Italy is just at a different level. It is hard to compare it with the U.S., Spain, or any other developed countries. Actually it is not even close to some "emerging countries" like Taiwan or Portugal. I have heard some saying that customers are not kings in Italy. Very true.

The Jumeira Grand hotel on via Veneto more than lived up to expectations.

The rooms are really well appointed, comfortable and tranquil. The staff were all very friendly and really helpful. The service and quality of everything was excellent. No complaints at all. It was a real haven in what is an extremely busy city.

I would happily stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for one week during last April, 2013. I always choose this area when visiting Rome, but had never been at this hotel. It was great. The staff was absolutely efficient and kind. They helped me solving several working issues at most unexpected hours and always with a smile and real will to help. I choose a room overlooking Via Veneto, which proved to be a good decision. Rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Definitely the best option in Rome.

Room Tip: Don't miss a visit to the Acqua Spa, in the hotel lower ground floor. Unforgettable!
