“Little gem of a hotel just outside Rome centre”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Stayed here during our visit to Rome for 3 nights, well worth its high rating, nice decor throughout, our room was very comfortable, everything was clean, decent breakfast buffet each morning, staff very friendly and happy. Only an 8-10 minute walk through a decent area to the Bologna Metro Stop and then a short ride into Termini for access to all the sights. Will stay here again when we undoubtedly return to the city. Superb value for the price they are charging we have paid a lot more for hotels not even half as good in the past.

We stayed here for just one night and despite arriving very late still got a warm welcome at reception. The hotel interior is just beautiful with Art Deco floors, doors etc. Because we were just using the hotel as a quick stop off we really didn't get chance to make the most of the hotel but had a quick look round the lovely vintage artefacts that are in various public areas along with big comfy sofas. There is a museum in the hotel too but we didn't get chance to look at unfortunately. The room we had was not particularly big but had lovely on suite and we paid less than £50 for a nights sat with breakfast so was incredible value for Rome. Breakfast was lovely with a great choice at a large buffet table. A waiter brought hot drinks to your table and was very friendly.

One tip I would give is make sure you have a good idea on a good map of where the hotel is. We got of at the new metro stop recommended on the hotel web site but then went in the wrong direction which is not much fun when you are tired. You need to use the subway B1 getting off at Agnese/Annibaliano when you come out on to the street you are in an area where lots of streets meet. If the subway is to the back of you turn left then take the next left and then keep going straight up the street then straight up the nex street and you will come to the hotel.

We stayed here for a long weekend while the rugby was on...! It was also the week the pope resigned, so Rome was very busy!! We chose this hotel in the same way as many others, it had a high rating on trip advisor and was on offer at hotels.com, it turned out to be around £60 per night, including breakfast, which was too good to turn down. The hotel is straightforward to get to; from the airport we took the metropolitan to ostiense (16 euros for both of us) and then metro line b to sant agnese (3 euros for both) and then a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet residential area; from the outside you could mistake it for another apartment block! Inside it is clean and well presented. The staff at reception were friendly and spoke good English. Our room, compared to others we have stayed at in rome, seemed small, it was square in design, but was clean and well presented. There was a stocked free non alcoholic mini bar, with some coke/fanta/water which was a nice touch. The bed was massive, and very comfy! The bathroom again was quite compact, but everything worked and was cleaned daily. Breakfast in the morning was standard continental, ham, cheese, eggs, cakes etc; it would be a nice touch if the hotel could put there own individual touch to the food, but we had no issues. On our first morning, much to the chefs consternation, we turned up half an hour late, but he was kind enough to bring us some extras out! So thank you! Moral of the story, don't rely on your iPhone to give you the right time!!

Outside of the hotel, it is well located for the metro links; Linea b will take you to the colosseum and cavour, close to all the main sights. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes in the local area, I can 100% reccomend a cake shop called bakery house Roma... Have the cheesecake!

Overall, this is a pleasant, clean and friendly hotel, if I could get as good prices again, I would stay here again... But I don't think it's worth paying much extra for.

I picked this hotel because it was the cheapest one listed starting from the number 1. At the time if was tenth best in the WHOLE of Rome and at £86 per night it was great value for money set in a more residential area but only a short distance to the main station (Termino) by bus. We prefer using public transport, it all adds to the tourist experience and purchasing the Roma Pass means you can jump on and off all day long for 3 days. The hotel has these available at the desk. If you get the coach from the airport to Termini it costs 10 euros to the hotel in a taxi but when you book the hotel will email you with different ways of getting to the hotel. I cannot fault the staff at the hotel, they give you a map upon arrival and mark on all the bus routes to major attractions. We had 206 Senior which was a reasonable size but to be honest we only used it to sleep in and get ready in, most of our days were spent out and about. The room was clean and warm with great toiletries. The service was fabulous in the bar area and breakfast tho one of the waiters was really noisy when collecting crockery, dishes and plates crashing together, maybe he was new to waitering. I already had a list of restaurants I had researched through Trip Advisor but we only managed to eat at one of them as we were too tired to venture too far and took the advice of the staff on the front desk. The fish restaurant we went to was amazing and priced for residents rather than tourists. Nearly had a heart attack buying two drinks close to the Vatican that cost more than our meal WITH drinks the day before!! I don't know why you would pay so much money for a hotel in Rome when there are so many places to visit when you can stay at the Relais 6 and be treated like honoured guests.

A great find just outside the main centre of Rome. Perfect location for travelling into Rome on the new underground line. The location is quiet at night, safe to walk around and has nearby shops and restaurants at the bottom of the road.

The room was cleaned each day and was excellent for relaxing after a long days walk.

The staff were very helpful for recommendations for restaurants locally and in the centre of Rome. We found some great restaurants thanks to their help.

Breakfast was plentiful and suited multiple choices!

I would highly recommend staying here on your visit to Rome.

Thank you for the great start to our holiday.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the back garden area, no noise at all at night.

Lovely hotel. Friendly staff. Just hard to find a place to eat. Easy access to metro for visit to Vatican area and colosseum. Beautifully decorated lobby. Wonderful continental breakfast each morning included with room. Only problem we had was the night desk attendant, he seemed to be confused from his right and left and this is why we could never find a place to eat. Day attendant was very helpful with helping us plan our visits to city centre. Would definitely return here again and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Discover where you want to eat during the day.

A very warm and friendly hotel perfect for a weekend break. The staff were very helpful especially Fabio who was always Smiling. The hotel is very quirky with lots to look at, the rooms are very clean and i really enjoyed the breakfast. The location was ideal only 2 minutes from the metro. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend to other couples.

Room Tip: I would request a room facing the front.
