My wife & I traveled in Italy on our Honeymoon. We already had booked other B&B in Rome, but suddenly our plans changed & we decided to go to Rome 2 days earlier. As there was very little time and everything was expensive, after little research we found Aurelia 429 B&B. Price for us was acceptable (about 80 euro including city tax, and when booking 1 day before entering, it was not bed solution). As we were arriving late (at 11PM) we contacted the owner, Maurop & told him if late check in was problem, but he told that it was OK. So we booked the B&B.
It's located really 3-4 minutes walk from the metro (Baldo degli Ubaldi) so it was not problem to get there. The B&B is located on the fifth floor of the house and consists of several rooms. Maurop greeted us very friendly, but when we got to the payment, he smiled and told that "for late check-in we can pay additional 20 euro, if we'd like". As we where not informed about it neither via booking site, nor by Maurop via phone, we decided not to pay this cost, but then Maurop demanded to pay this 20 euros, because it was our obligation as we checked in later.
So at the end, we payed about 90 euro per night and this is not good price for this B&B, at this place. For this price we could get some good hotel but it was too late.
The rooms are named by colors. Our was pink. On the pictures, room is more nice and attractive than it was in reality. It's size is quite big, with double bed, private bath (little bit old style bath, what you may find in the old houses, not in modern B&B's) and very poor breakfast. Kitchen is small. There is no choice of coffee, only espresso. Also if Maurop forgets to put enough coffee, tea or sugar, you can't get it, because it's closed and only Maurop has the key.
On breakfast there are biscuits, croissants, jam & fruits. No, cheese, ham, or boiled eggs or something else.
The sleep quality is good, it's not noisy place and B&B, so no problems with it. Clearness of the rooms is not the top star, there was noticeable dust on the floor but you can live with it for 1-2 days, not more.
Overall, this is Average B&B, with good location (near metro, bus stop and walking distance from Vatican) where you can get some hidden fees and pay for it much more, than it costs. I don't think that I will get there again.
