“Absolutely disgusting, you have been warned...........”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Taking a GREEN LINE TOUR would be one of the worst decisions you could make as you visit Rome. Trip Advisor requires members to give a minimum rating of 1 oit of 5. These guys actually earn a negative 5.

They are solely in the business of filling up their buses with warm bodies. Customer service is absolutely zilch. The tour guides are rude beyond belief. No eye contact. Rude tone. We had two Russian ladies on the bus who were busy gossiping and treated customers like trash. None of the headphone receivers work. They pry on unsuspecting tourists who have absolutely no clue what they are signing up for.

Once you fork over your hard earned money - you are screwed. They could not care less about your satisfaction. Even though they advertise live tours - there is NOBODY who is on the mic. 90% of the headphone outlets on the bus do not work.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. How these crooks have a license to operate in Rome is beyond belief!

“Don't do it.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Normally my wife and I like to get to know new cities by taking a hop-on/hop-off bus tour. We asked our hotel concierge which tour to take and he recommended the Green Line Tour. Big mistake! The brochure shows that a bus comes to each location - in small print, however, it says that in off-season (not summer) it come every 30 minutes. We wasted almost an hour waiting for the tour to start at the Terminii Station and then got off right away at the Colloseum. The recorded narrative was poor and the connnection was on-off. We missed the bus by one minute at the Colloseum and decided to forget the whole thing and just take cabs and walk. Using a guide book, which we read aloud at each site was a much better option.

We paid for the tour in advance at our Hotel (the Artemedi) and when we told them about what happened they immediately repaid us half of the charges, which we appreciated.

One tip - if you do want hop-on/hop-off bus tour in Rome in off-season - I would recommend the Red Bus. Not sure if the tour itself is good - but the buses arrived much more frequently then the Green Line.

“Tivoli Tour”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The mini bus had cramped seating and had no toilet or disabled facilities. This was a 4 hour tour for €61. The tour was divided between Hadrian's villa and the Villa d'Este. Our guide said we would spend about an hour at each, but due to the 20 minute walk to the beginning of Hadrian's villa entrance this was not the case. I suppose I was lucky that my guide only had to speak Spainish and English but on the mini bus we had a 2nd guide speaking Russian to. 3 guides for the tours would have been better and quicker. I was looking forward more to the Villa d'Este but in the end just barely got 35 minutes. The female guides we had were knowledgeable if not the personality. There was a long wait for the pick up time, and a further 25 minute delay at tours office with no explanation offered. The mini buses air brakes were noisy every time they were used. I would try another tour operator next time.

“Stay Away”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

The comments made in previous reviews are correct, their Rome hop on/hop off service is inefficient, pick up times are irregular often with long stops, commentary poor, earphones faulty, resist the attempts of ticket sellers at the booths to convince you otherwise there are plenty of other competing hop on/hop off companies.

“Absolutely horrible!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

First of all you're taking this type of bus to LISTEN about city attractions but recordings won't work so do not bother to get in! Second of all you're not allowed to eat in this bus. And if you try to have a snack bus driver will come and tell you in front of everyone to stop eating. Disaster!
