“Fantastic base in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

Host Gianfranco is truly dedicated to his work. He is genuinely concerned that his guests are comfortable and have a good experience at Angolo Romano and he goes out of his way to ensure it.
We arrived approx 8-9pm and Gianfranco met us with no problem. He sat with us to provide a map of Rome and answered any questions we had before leaving us to settle in.
Angolo Romano is an apartment set up with 4 rooms. We stayed for 4 nights in the pink room – simple but very spacious and comfortable with a good bathroom ensuite.
Breakfast is included, a simple self serve of cereal, coffee, tea & packaged croissants etc...
For anyone who doesn’t already know, in Italy it is illegal to serve fresh food unless you are licensed (restaurant, cafe etc), all others must serve packaged products.
Angolo Romano is located approx 10-15 min walk from the Vatican and the train station is only a 2-3 min walk.
The location is quiet, no street noise however, the walls are extremely thin in the apartment meaning you can hear even a whisper in the kitchen/common area. Guests are asked to bear this in mind when coming/going from the apartment. We didn’t encounter any problem with noise.
We had a lovely stay at Angolo Romano and thank Gianfranco for his attention and commitment. I would recommend Angolo Romano to anyone wanting a convenient base in Rome, away from the noise and bustle.
We would definitely revisit Angolo Romano in the future.

We spent 4 night in this nice B&B. Everything was perfect. B&B is situated very close to Vatican city and if you like to walk, you can easily reach Trastevere or Piazza di Popola. We did :) The B&B is very clean and nice, and it's owner Gianfranco is always ready to help. We needed to have early check-in and was welcomed at 9 a.m., so we could leave our luggage and go to discover Rome! WiFi and desktop computer are free to use. I loved our stay there. Thank you!

Having just returned from 5 days (4 nights) in Rome staying at the Anglo Romano I just wanted to say what a pleasure it was to stay here.
The Angolo Romano is in a great location for visiting the brilliant city of Rome.
It's just a short 5 minute walk from Cipro underground station, where all of Rome's attractions
are within easy reach.
There are just two metro lines crossing the city and it's only €1.50 for 100 minutes travel.
Very easy to use and we never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes at any time.
The Angolo Romano is a short 10 minute walk from The Vatican museum and about 20 minutes
from St Peters square.
The Angolo Romano is in an apartment block on the first floor, there is a lift, but it's just as easy
to walk up the short flight of stairs.
We stayed in the Green room which was equipped with a TV, fridge, air conditioning, and a safe.
and 24 hour wi-fi that we found very useful.
It also had a small balcony which was perfect for sitting out on at night with a glass of wine after
a hard days walking around the city.
There is a small communal breakfast area that's equipped with everything you need, including 24 hour internet access although we tended to make breakfast and eat on the balcony in the mornings.
There is an excellent supermarket at the end of the street that's open till 8pm every day which
we found to be very inexpensive, or a small shop across from that which stayed open
late till 11pm every night where you could get most things you needed.

It's advisable to email the owner Gianfranco before you get to Rome just to advise him of your
arrival time, as he will meet you at the apartment.
We were met by Gianfranco on our arrival and he gave us a map of the city and lots of hints and tips on visiting this great city, all of which helped us tremendously.
Especially the tips on going to the Vatican later in the day to avoid the queues and also where to catch a bus (next to Cipro station) that went all over Rome and for €1.50 was a great way to see the city.
There are plenty of small restaurants and places to eat near the Angolo Romano too.
We had a very comfy bed in the green room and the shower was excellent and powerful.
We weren't disturbed by any road noise, although Rome is a noisy city, we never noticed it
and slept very well every night.
Overall it's a great little bed & breakfast in a good location with a lovely owner who will help you
with anything you need.
I know we will be going back to Rome as we just didn't have time to see everything, and I know the first place I would stay would be the Angolo Romano, but if it was fully booked I would still visit just to say "Hello" to Gianfranco, as I know we now have a friend for life in Rome.
Thank you.

Room Tip: The Green room was perfect, with a little balcony that came in very useful at the end of a long day...

I stayed at Angolo Romano for 5 days in April 2013. I booked it based on Tripadvisor reviews as well as location. It did not disappoint. Perfect location; 5 minute walk to the Vatican Museum and 10 minutes to St Peter's Square. One block from Cipro metro station which means you can take the Metro to any of Rome's attractions. The Metro is so easy to use and very frequent and travel time is minutes to the centre of Rome and to the attractions. The B&B is on the first floor of an apartment. The Landlord, Gianfranco is very friendly and helpful. He arranged pick up from the airport for me (50 euro) and also a ticket to Vatican museum for next morning so I did not have to queue up. The B&B is clean with ensuites for each room. I booked the single room, but when I arrived Gianfranco offered me the option of using a bigger room that was vacant, and I took it (at no extra cost). He lives a few minutes away, so make sure he knows when you are arriving (or have his phone number on you) as he meets guests on arrival to let them in and give them keys to the front door and their rooms as well as give them all information needed. Ample breakfast is provided with an Espresso machine always available. If you want to add milk, that is available in the frig. Quiet location with a grocery store, a pizza outlet and a bar within 5 minutes. 10 minutes to some really nice restaurants. Thanks Gianfranco

Room Tip: Look up the rooms on the B&B website and choose according to your need

We stayed in this B&B for longer weekend, an absolutely perfect location with a perfect houskeeper,Gianfranco. He offered us a map of the city and his staff came every morning to clean up the rooms and the kitchen for breakfast. We had a very nice, modern and clean room with air conditioning hot/cold and breakfast was also very generous, with many things to choose from kitchen at disposal all the day, as croissants, jams, nutella, butter, cereal, yogurt, coffee, milk, tea and juice. Very close to the Vatican and the Metro Station, supermarkets, banks, laundry sites, restaurants, and the price was right for our budget.I will return to Rome again and I will definitely stay at Angolo Romano again

Great value for your money. 2 blocks up from Cipro station, 10 minutes walk to the Vatican. And owner Gianfranco was gracious and helpful. Just a few tips: The B&B is located inside an apartment building and is 2 blocks "up" (not down, as I read somewhere) the street from the Cipro metro station. There is a plaque outside the building with the B&B's name and a phone number. Keep that number handy. Because I was not able to notify Gianfranco about our time of arrival, nobody was there to let us in. After a moment of panic, I took a chance and sent a text to that phone number on the plaque (thankfully I had a local sim - another tip to impart) and he texted me right back. He was there in a few minutes - problem solved! We were a family of four and though our room was small, we had a mini fridge, a safe, our own bathroom, 2 twin beds and a full bed. It also had a TV, which we didn't use. The shared kitchen was always stocked with food and had an espresso machine. Gianfranco gave us a map and gave us tips on where to go. Although we didn't spend much time in our room, it was nice to have a simple yet comfortable room waiting for us after a day of walking around Rome.

Stayed here with wife and daughter in October 2010, so this is a very delayed review!
This B&B is very cost effective and delivers what it promises. Excellent base to visit the Varican. To visit the other attractions in Rome you must be prepared to walk a lot.
The place is a bit cramped for space but still comfortable. The breakfast room can double as a mini kitchen as well and u get comforts of a rented apartment as well which I thought was a great deal.
The breakfast was nice and thoughtful but u need to be careful of other residents hoarding all the good stuff the night before! This as the owner does not live on the property. He was really helpful and considerate and even overlooked a couple of blunders on our part!
The sat tv could really do with a few English channels!
Would definitely stay again.
