“great location, very helpful staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I recently stayed here for my trip to Rome and I was very pleased with the services they provided. Located really close to major train station (walking distance) and has some really nice restaurants close by. Didn't realize that a market opened up on the street until we had to get up really early in the morning!
When we arrived after an overnight flight, they allowed us in and our room was ready even before 11am. The staff was extremely helpful to provide us with directions and maps to anywhere we were asking about. We were allowed to even use their printer!
Breakfast usually started around 8am and since we had some really excursions booked. When we inquire about it, they quickly provided us with yogurts and cheese to put in our room fridge. Also gave us packaged croissants and showed us where all the cutlery and supplies were. My favourite part was that they left the cappucino machine on for me!!
The room itself was well kept and very clean. Shower was nice and hot! Free Wifi was a great plus too!
Would definetley recommend this hotel to anyone...and would like to return if i ever am in the area again!

I decided to book this hotel as it appeared to have everything i wanted and at the right price, 5-10 min walk from Termini station, 10 mins to closest subway, very quiet even on a saturday night? if your after lively then dont come here. if you want relaxed quiet with good surroundings and hot water and comfy bed then yes this is it. we did find the pillows a little hard but nothing to moan about, shower was awesome and hot and bathroom and carpets and all the room really was very clean. lovely staff too, breakfast was to be honest naff for my british taste. nothing hot bar toast but get over it i guess your in Italy!!
weather was beautiful at early 20's and we went end of November.
the funniest thing was you are opposite a sex cinema and we didnt even notice til the last day and also we are right beside a strip club but again didnt notice as it was shut all the time. we smoke and had a quick fag out before going into hotel and noticed it then and you may find it to be unpleasent but it really didnt matter and no harm was done and basically it was dead anyway. we heard no noise or loud music and as i said we stayed friday and saturday nights.
excellent hotel for price and location, would go back! if they get the pillows sorted....
ps no english channels on TV so bring your ipad to stream on the Wifi.....
we only found one random english film and then it was gone.

Room Tip: ask for the one that overlooks the courtyard out the back as its beautiful. palm trees and flowers...

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for your kind thoughts.
Your advice was taken into consideration and we've already made an order for softer pillows so now there will be a set of softer pillows in every room. We hope to see you soon and we can assure you that everything you advised us to improve was taken care of.
We are happy that you carry a beautiful memory of your stay in Rome and again we wish you a wonderful life together.
Our best wishes.

My wife and I celebrated a wedding anniversary in Rome and stayed at the hotel in September 2012. Excellent value for money. Easy style of the 19th century, the cleanliness in the room and bathroom, friendly staff and a willingness to help.

We went on a family holiday at the end of august and I must say that I wasn’t expecting that much for what I’ve paid. This is the perfect place if you want to visit Rome. When we arrived, they gave us all the information about places to visit and restaurants (not the touristy ones), everything we needed to know so we didn’t had to waste time searching on the internet (free WI-FI by the way). Also, we requested upon arrival a cradle for our two years old daughter and this was also a free service. The room was great, all very liberty style and what mattered most was the cleanness of the room and also the common spaces’, my daughter enjoyed a lot running all over the place. We loved it and we are surely come-back.

Just came back from perfect, romantic, 4 night stay in Rome. Hotel was very nice - it's actually more of a small guesthouse than a hotel proper - but quiet, friendly, nice views, functioning aircon, and well situated if you don't mind a very short walk to the metro station! Just one downside - we were totally. attacked by bedbugs. As in 30-40+ bites have shown up so far - and I'm told they can continue to show up for 10 days after being somewhere. I just hope we haven't brought any home with us!

I contacted the hotel to tell them this after we'd got home and diagnosed the bites. They have yet to reply. An apology might have been nice. I would suggest not staying there until they can confirm they've done a full decontamination of room 3 (if not the whole place). Until then, we'll keep applying the calamine lotion and hoping we haven't brought any unexpected Roman bedbugs home with us.

Such a shame - as it ruined our otherwise perfect trip.

THIS REPLY IS USEFULL FOR WHOM WILL READ THIS COMMENT.

I am the owner of this hotel and I can assure you all, that besides the daily housekeeping, the hotel is being monthly disinfected as all the guests that had stayed here with us can confirm.
The guests that have written the review "beware bedbugs" had stayed with us for 4 days and it is absolutely astonishing that they did not complain in those four days of their stay in Capitolium Rooms. Only after they left have we received their letter where they were asking if there is anything we can do to make amends for the situation and also writing that they would be interested to hear it. From all this information the reader and traveler can understand the meaning.

The Capitolium is a short walk from Termini. It is a very attractive little hotel in an ineresting part of town. The rooms are small but very functional, and beautifully decorated. The staff are all very helpful. There is a free tea/coffee machine in the dining room, which is always available. Overall, an excellent and recommended hotel. Two small things a) the key to the outside door of the hotel is a little difficult to get to work, leading to slight panic when arriving home late at night - keep trying, it eventually works; b) the free WIFI does not reach all rooms. We had to come to the dining room area to get connection. The restaurant just down the road (Steak House retaurant) is excellent, with the BEST seafood fettucine!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the monastry garden next door.
