From first arriving at this place I wasn't too sure what to expect. A little doorway hidden in the middle of this amazing city didn't really tell me anything about the b&b. A quick phone call to the owner (advised) and she promptly turned up to open the door. She doesn't stay here 24/7 so it's best to let her know when you're going to be turning up. She took us inside the b&b which has a lift. Might sound obvious but after my week in Italy this was the only place that did. The owner, Alice is as friendly as they come. She give us a tour of the place and a map where she explained the best places to visit. The simple touches are often the greatest. Each room has it's own shelf in the fridge where she places little items for breakfast each morning. Bread, yoghurts, etc. There is a coffee making machine and a toaster in the kitchen. She keeps the water, milk, juice, iced tea topped up with her little shopping runs so you're always sure to get a drink after a long day walking around Rome. The room itself was immaculate. Each one has it's own name. I was in Margarita which has the benefit of it's own bathroom. 2 of the 4 rooms have this facility. The other 2 share a bathroom which after having a sneaky peak was also immaculate. Alice likes to make guests feel welcome and leaves little baskets of "goodies" in your room for you. Bread, doughnuts, nutella. Pretty much anything which was always nice to come back to. The place also has the added bonus of free wi-fi. Location wise, this place cannot be faulted. About a 5 minute walk from the Vatican, right outside is a subway station with access to Termini Station and all the main tourist attractions. There is a lovely restaurant over the road and a nice little fresh pizza shop directly to the left of the hotel. All in all a truly enjoyable experience and I'll be sure to stay here again on my next visit.
