“very quiet nice and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

Stayed in room 104 had a balcony view of the patio.. Breakfast very good, very quiet and peaceful close to the <manzoni train station which brings you to all the places to see, laundymat where they wash clothes close by so you dont travel with dirty clothes...Dont use the pizza place rest they advise use the one directly across the street from it or the one on the corner. Neighborhood ok it is safe at night.. they booked a day tour to isle of capri for us where we were picked up and dropped off at the hotel highly reccomend

Booked this hotel as a surprise for my girlfriend's birthday as I wanted a reasonably priced hotel with a central location. We were certainly not disappointed with that, it was located a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum and close to the Rome underground so all areas of the city could be reached easily. Room was compact but very clean and tidy, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful when asked for advice about exploring the city and how to get around. Basic continental breakfast was included with the room and could be eaten on the outdoor terrace which was very nice each morning. However, there is no bar or restaurant, but alcoholic drinks can still be ordered from the hotel menu and served to you by the staff along with complimentary bar snacks. Overall, hotel contributed to a great trip to Rome, and really is a great base for exploring the entire city. Would highly recommend.

My new husband and I stayed at the Hotel Best Roma for 2 nights on 24th June 2013 for our mini honeymoon. Rome was fantastic, bustling with people, wonderful sights and absolutely fantastic food! The B&B itself is lovely. It is clean and bright and elegantly furnished. The room we stayed in was the room which appears on the website and all the leaflets. It was clean and had a boudoir feel to it with chandelier, vintage style telephone, shutters, damask bedding and a gilded mirror. The breakfast was typically continental. Fresh rolls, cheese spreads, salami, parma ham, sliced cheese, cereals, croissants, jams and fresh fruit and yoghurt. Various different types of coffee and teas were also available. Nice, simple and yummy. There is a small seating area in the breakfast room and the most fantastic terrace outside with stylish chairs, tables and umbrellas. I would definitely recommend dining alfresco. The staff were pleasant enough but I've definitely experienced friendlier. I had emailed the hotel prior to our departure to inform them my husband and I would be travelling for our honeymoon however no special provisions were put in place to make our stay even more memorable which was a tad disappointing. The hotel is situated a good half an hours walk away from the colleseum/Spanish steps which was fine for us but could be too much for some people. The nearest metro station (Vittorio Emmanuel) is only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotels front doors which is very convenient. The area the hotel is situated in does not appear to be the most pleasant either. It appeared to be in a Chinese type district and there was an awful lot of graffiti, rubbish and at times a rather strong smell of urine in certain shop doorways enroute to the hotel. This didn't really affect my partner and I however could be fairly intimidating for others. All in all the hotel was nice and great value for money and we would stay there again if the price was right however I don't think it is a 4 star hotel as described. The iron we were given had the wires exposed around the cord and the fire alarm light above our door fell out of its casing on one occasion. Only minor things but still not conjusive of a 4 star residence.

When we arrived late at night, the receptionist did not have a record that after I had booked a room for 2 via expedia, I had emailed the Hotel directly and organised an extra bed. It looked like we were going to have a very significant problem with no room for 3 people!
I suspect this review would have been a tale of misery if I had not been able to produce the full documentation of our email messaged.
Once this was read the receptionist kindly upgraded us to a huge room by Roman standards at no extra charge
Our experience was fantastic, we had a huge dividable room. The rooms are nice, quiet given our room faced the busy road (Double glazing and shutters made the difference) and the bathroom was spacious
Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very good.
A long distance to walk between the hotel and the train station if you have heavy suitcases
All in all, we could not have had a better experience
So I recommend that you email the Hotel directly to confirm your arrangements then take a copy of the emails with you on arrival.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hotel Best Roma for 5 nights mid-May of this year. The hotel itself is above-average: Clean bed linens (daily); very friendly staff; wonderful, large selection at Breakfast and the famous G. Fassi Gelateria only a stone's throw away (a MUST if you're staying at HBR).

The location of the hotel can be a blessing and a curse in all honesty. It took around 25 minutes by-foot to walk to the Colosseum; not a problem for younger generations, but could prove exhausting for older guests. There are however, multiple transport links from the hotel: the tram departs a mere 5 minute stroll from the hotel regularly and the Manzoni Metro station (Line A) was only a 10 minute walk (excellent connections to POIs such as The Spanish Steps).

The hotel was clean, cool and comfortable. A nice retreat after walking around all day sightseeing in the sometimes, unforgiving Roman heat! The staff were extremely helpful and indicated to us, some of the best eats in Rome and their personal favourites. When directions were needed, the staff helpfully drew directions and advised of the most cost-effective routes and ways in which to do this. Breakfast was surprisingly varied; fresh pastries and coffee as well as the normal continental selection.

About the only negatives would be the location. At times, quite tiring walking to and from the Metro. The Hotel's bathroom (pictured on the website) was also a little misleading; very small and compact although this certainly isn't reason not to book as it served its purpose and was merely functional.

Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to rest your head after a long day of sight-seeing, this is the hotel you want. If you're after something a little more luxurious, you would fare better to look closer to central Rome, but of course can expect to pay considerably more.

This is best hotel to stay if this very first time to Italy. Me and My mother stayed at this hotel for 6 days May 22, 2013. The train runs right in front of Hotel. There is a grocery story and eating places in walking distance. The Daytime Manager was wonderful and very friendly. Any thing we needed he was able to help us with or tell how to get there. We even rented a car through them to drive to Florence. And yes i will stay there again. It's about 30 room hotel. Very Clean.

It was perfect. Staff friendly and helpful. Location was great, near tram stops, Metro and buses. Also near walking distance to historical places. The elevator was small but that is normal in Italy. We were in the last floor and they have a roof patio. Room temperature were great. Room was clean everyday. The cleaning lady was super because no dust under bed and she took care of my luggage. Rooms has not big closet, but again this is normal in Italy.
