“The best in Rome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2011

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed for its price. We stayed for 8 nights 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The rooms (1 double and 1 triple) were extremely clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of coffees and desserts eaten in a beautiful garden. The staff were very polite and helpful. Metro station, buses and tram were close by so it was very easy to move around. We will definitely stay here in our next visit to Rome.

Based on previous reviews, I would have to agree that the hotel probably isnt in the best location, but the hotel inside does make up for it. The rooms were excellent, with a large bed and very clean. The bathroom was generous in size and had a large window in the room that opened right up.

We actually had a problem with the fridge in our room, which caused a big problem throughout our stay here. To save our pennies, we decided to buy groceries from the supermarket down the road & keep it in the fridge, only it wasnt working. We asked staff to fix it, which they can immediately to look at and said a guy would be here the next day to fix it. Next day came, and still wasnt fixed, dispite someone coming into look at it. They kindly let us use the hotel kitchens fridge for our food, but it was quite annoying having to trouble them each time. Each day we would ask when it would be fixed, and it still wasnt fixed when we left. Extremely annoying!

There is a nice courtyard on the roof top, where you can relax in the sun on a lounger. Note: you are not allowed to bring food or drinks here unless purchased from the hotel. They are quite firm on this.

We would like to mention that the gentlemen who works on reception during the day is extremely helpful, and knows the attractions and area very well, and speaks good english. He made our stay a good one as well as the ladies who serve the breakfast. They were so lovely. Also the breakfast is excellent here, it should be included in your rate. Provides everything you need, and a little extra!

Just got back from a weeks stay at this hotel. We have no complaints it was a lovely hotel. Our room was small but nice, very clean, clean sheets and towels everyday. Breakfast was good, continental. Loved the coffee machine, would be rude not to start the day with an expresso!! A nice outside terrace area to eat. Reception was excellent, they give you a map with all the attractions and have plenty of infomation about getting to places etc etc, really helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is good 5-10 mins from the termini (easy to find also) and again a 5-10 walk to the nearest metro stop Manzoni, we did use this but the best way to see Rome is on foot, we walked all over, feet sore but well worth it! alot of the main attactions are within walking distance, we didn't mind walking 20-30mins at a time, plenty to see and do en route! wouldn't say the hotel was in the best area of Rome but we often came in late at night and never felt threatened or scared, it was clean and locals seemed really friendly.

We would definately reccommend this hotel for value for money! Wan to go back to Rome got the holiday blues already!

P.s Just a tip to fellow travellers, we saved loads of money in the day by drinking the fresh water from the pumps scattered all over the city (keep an empty bottle handy) Its perfectly fine and fresh to drink! bottles of water to buy from street vendors can charge up to 3euro or 4euro for a coke!

Rome was our introduction to Italy and Best Roma was our first hotel. We were warned about room sizes in Europe and we were not in for a shock or anything. The people are great and very helpful. The rooms are nicely kept and the breakfast was good. Nothing to complain about!

We read about this hotel on Tripadvisor before booking with Expedia and noted that the location isn't the nicest, which in terms of all Rome, it probably isn't. We got a bit sidetracked on the way from the Termini station and ended up walking through an alley past some kind of rehabilitation shelter were lots of men were drinking on the street. No one gave us any trouble but it was a bit intimidating. But once you pass that the area is a normal bustling downtown area.
The hotel was fantastic though and a really good price. We had to get metros/buses to all of the sights but they are very easy to use and the concierge staff are extremely helpful in telling you how to get around, where to go, where to eat, what to see, what time of day to go etc.
The rooms were smallish but big enough for my Mum and I to get our two cases in! The bathroom was nicely decorated and the shower was divine! There were nice shutters and good double glazed windows. We didn't hear a sound all night apart from on the Saturday when a nearby disco played late into the night, but if it wasn't for the good quality windows we would have been disturbed!
Air conditioning was excellent as it is sometimes a bit hit and miss in smaller hotels. Comfortable bed and mini bar and safe in room.
Our room overlooked the terrace where you can eat breakfast which is really nice and there is a sun terrace on the roof which they provide a bar service for too.
Breakfast was typical continental, much better than I have had in other European hotels, and lovely smiley hospitality staff.
Overall, really good value and an excellent choice, as long as you are happy using public transport.
