“Great place, close to everything in Roma!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2012

We stayed 4 nights at the Fellini Inn in March '12. We had an apartment which was fantastic as there was a little more room to relax in than just having a room. The apartment was split into small living areas, entrance, living/dining area, kitchen, bedrooma dn bathroom. The apartment was nice a clean, and each morning the weekly weather forecast was left outside our door which was a really nice touch.
We went bed and breakfast and the breakfast was delicious, it is served a couple of doors up from the main hotel entrance, in a nice little cafe/bistro area.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, both whilst booking an also on arrival and throughout the stay. There is also free wi-fi available which was fantastic as other hotels I have stayed at have a very inadequate connection.
We found it to be really well located as we walked everywhere, it is literally a 5 min walk from the Trevi Fountain (which I visited everyday!) It also took about 15mins to walk from the Train Station. The only time we needed to use the Metro (which has a stop just up the road from the hotel) was to go to the Vatican City,
I would definitely recommend this hotel for other people to stay at.

The hotel location was great. The unit is more like a apratment. Small elevator, but you need your walking feet for Rome anyway. Breakfeast next door. Very helpful staff.

If we ever visit Rome again, we WILL stay at the Fellini Inn.
My partner and I stayed for 4 nights arriving on Christmas Eve. We were booked into a double room on the 4th floor.
The staff were extremely helpful leading up to our stay. Arranged efficient transfers for us also.
Quality for price and location is wonderful. Our room was small, compared to other larger hotels we have stayed in, but very clean and a comfortable bed (which you definately need when walking all day around Rome) Short walk to Trevi Fountain, Piazza Novona, Spanish Steps and more.
Breakfast was included and was lovely modest set up downstairs in the building next to the hotel.
Thanks Diana and the rest of the staff at Fellini, we hope to visit again!

Wife and I just returned from Rome having spent 6 nights in an apartment (5th floor) at Fellini Inn. We’d booked this hotel on the strength of many good reviews, especially the regarding the friendly people who work there. I can confirm that they were all nice and helpful. The younger lady printed off ‘the way to get there’ maps for us simply because we asked for info about a couple of places. The chambermaids were friendly even with their limited English.

Having said these, however, I’d question myself if the apartment is really good value for money as there were some negatives too. Check-in was quick and we were allowed to get into the room at noon when we arrived. The apartment was clean with 2 air con units, 1 in the room and 1 in the sitting area. The weather then was such (high 18-19C) that there wasn’t any need to have air con or heating on. I’d imagine that these had saved them quite a bit of money compare with the summer months when air con would be on day and night!

The bathroom was small and the toilet was right behind the door with not much room next to it at all. It’d be a struggle for a big sized person. The shower was good but the curtain set up wasn’t the best to say the least. The bed was reasonable comfortable for us but again there was no room on 1 side of the bed to get down. The hanging rails in the 2 small wardrobes were very high, very inconvenient if you were not tall. The breakfast next door was ok at first, but with very limited choices and variations making a 6 nights stay very bland. The lady serving the breakfast was friendly enough. Depending on the position of your room, the road tunnel next to the hotel block could be very noisy if the windows were opened. Being an old building, the walls between rooms were thick and ceiling was high. On the morning of the checkout we were told that since the beginning of the year, there is a 2Euro per person per night city tax to pay!

Fellini was well located near Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps but the street itself was unattractive. There was a Spar supermarket across the road. As we are keen walkers, we walked everywhere (including Vatican City) and only used the metro once. But beware that as nearly all the pavements were of cobbled stones, it could be hard on your feet (definitely no heels forthe ladies!).

Rome is an expensive city to visit. Considering what we’d to pay for the apartment, we’d only recommend Fellini for relatively short stays. If we were to do Rome again, for the same sort of rate, we’d probably look for a more comfortable hotel near a metro station further out of the city.

Room Tip: Be furthest away from the road tunnel. Go to have breakfast as early as poss.

We stayed in the Fellini Inn as part of our honeymoon. It was the perfect choice! The staff is the highlight, make no mistake. They are great, and always ready to help. It´s really different from other hotels. They make it all worth it.

The location is another big thumbs up! It´s near the Fontana di Trevi, and the nightlife there is fantastic. Lot´s of great restaurants (typical, and not expensive), gelaterias, and the Fontana! And it´s a calm and safe spot. You can also find easy transportation, and different types of restaurants and shops. Even a small market.

The hotel has a small elevator (typical small elevator from the hotels in Europe), but you have to take a flight of stairs. Not a problem for most, but you should keep in mind if traveling with the elderly or if you have some problem.

Breakfast is in a building next to the hotel, which is also not great. And is a small place. But I must say that I don´t really care about breakfast in general, much less hotel breakfast.

Rooms are good, with a good internet connection. But the walls are a little thin, and can get noisy if you get some party travelers like we did. But that´s also common in hotels around Europe.

All in all, it was a perfect time. The staff and location really make up for it. I hope to stay there again if/when I go back to Rome.

Ciao, Bella!
