“very good hotel, very good breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

very good hotel with a very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with fruit, bread, meat, cheese and with a big smile from the staff. After 2 days we had to change room but we get an upgrade room with a balcony.

We stayed here when we booked a Globus tour of Rome. This hotel was great. Really clean and the staff was very nice. The hotel is walking distance to the Vatican and some really great restaurants. When we go to Rome again we will stay here.

Amazing how the attitude of the front office changes as soon as you check in. Beware of the fact that they put you in on a low profile room as you get in tired from the trip when you paid for a higher one when you booked. Unethical behavior.
Beds are very guard, toilet leaks all night. bathtub is a hazardous waiting to happen.
All together the only good ting is the location and even that only for the vatican as other points are quite a long walk.
All together, stay away from NH Hotels.

Room Tip: ensure you get an upper floor room and that they give it to you when you check in

Fantastic location - 15 mins' walk from St Peter's Basilica.
I'm very grateful to the front desk which let me check in early for free, especially when I arrived at 7am.
Wifi is free for standard internet, up to 100mb. Daily log-ins for each device is required.
What I didn't like was that for a business hotel, it doesn't provide an iron within the room. I will have to do my ironing in the ironing room which is within the gym and requires me to log in plus retrieve keys from the front desk. I also could only do it before 9pm which is very inconvenient. I had to press the front desk to give me access which he did very grudgingly.
Good selection for breakfast.

Great location.
Very good room;clean and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was a good variety. The fruit was ok.
A little expensive but due to location...probably.
Staff was very polite and friendly.

I was planning on staying at this property, but a family tragedy forced me to cancel my trip. Although I had a nonrefundable rate, and already paid upfront, the hotel management fully refunded everything, and were very kind and considerate.

I hope to reschedule in the next few weeks, and will definitely be staying here.

First of all I should point out that when we did a search on this website and others we found cheaper hotels in rome but there is a good reason why many were cheaper. We found several suitable ones but on closer inspection found that they were miles out from the centre meaning having to use buses or metro on congested roads which is a real inconvenience if like us you are only staying a couple of days. This hotel was priced only fractionally more but a much better standard of quality than many of the chains we have used previously and is located in a great position if you like a gentle morning/evening stroll to and from the nearby locations. We saw Vatican, Colosseum, Trivi fountain and a few other sites and didn't need to use any public transport or taxis while staying at this hotel. As a helpful tip, please note the following: taxis are expensive from the airport but a number of online booking transfer companies exist which will take you by coach for about a third of the price especially if only one or two of you. Secondly, both colosseum and Vatican can be queue jumped by booking online in advance. The queue for colosseum was about three hours without a ticket...or one minute for us with pre-booked tickets! Rome is fab with some great restaurants - much cheaper than Venice was generally and especially so if you check out the less touristy areas. check this website for some reviews of good restaurants. Enjoy.
