“Good overall with a few kinks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

My husband and I stayed at the NH Giustiniano for 7 days in March 2013. The hotel staff is very friendly and most of them at the front desk speak a multitude of languages (english, french, spanish, italian...). The housekeeper is very good as the rooms smelt really fresh as she usually mops everyday. The breakfast buffet is wonderful! But, there are two negatives (reasons for not giving this hotel 5 stars)- (1) The bed is rock hard & (2) the internet is VERY slow and you have to get a new password every 24 hours. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Lepanto Metro Station & about 8-10 minutes from the Vatican and the Pantheon. Around the corner from the hotel is a restaurant called Raf which is pretty decent and its open late and on Sundays when most in the area are closed.

My wife, 7 month old daughter and I stopped at NH Giustiniano from Thursday 7th March to Sunday 10th and we loved it. First time in Rome and we wasn't disappointed. I'll try and keep this review about NH Giustiniano so here goes.

First off the location for us was spot on. If you've not got transfers sorted, then book the SiT Shuttle, it costs $4 each way per person and stops about 3 minutes from the hotel, it took about 30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. We arrived about 12ish and our room was ready, we paid $15 per night for a room upgrade. We wanted a room with a separate living room for our daughter to sleep in. We stopped in room 503, which had a view of the Vatican (15 minute stroll away) and Saint Angelo's castle in the near distance.

Breakfast each morning was very nice, they had a choice of cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bread and pastries and bacon and scrambled eggs. They also had sparking wine so we had a few glasses of that each morning to start the day :) They gave us a high chair every morning so we could feed our daughter and they couldn't do enough for you. There's a coffee making machine at breakfast but they're more than willing to make you a fresh coffee if you so wish. We never ate at the restaurant so can't comment on that, nor did we use the leisure facilities.

Getting about was simple, the Lepanto metro station was less then 10 minutes away but honestly we ended walking anywhere we went because it wasn't so far away, even pushing our daughter in her stroller. We must have walked the equivalent of a marathon each day, which meant we walked the pastries and Peroni's off :)

Anyway the hotel was spot on, and a great location and I'd definitely stop there again, which we hope to do soon. Feel free to contact me if you want any more info.

Have fun.

You have got to love this hotel from the moment you enter it. Staff is very friendly and helpful – in addition to reasonable price we were offered a room upgrade with some bonuses at almost no extra charge – which I really enjoyed during our stay! It is very modern and had a beautiful view from the room – I wish I would wake up every morning with such a view of the Rome city. Rooms are very big comparing to other hotels in Rome, area is quiet. It is conveniently located just 15-20 minutes walking to Vatican City, and you have plenty of other options to explore this beautiful city. A lot of cafeterias offer various dining options, which might be pricey – but further you stay from the Vatican City is cheaper and I think more authentic to dine. Breakfast included into the room package is excellent – huge variety and staff is extremely friendly. I also recommend the restaurant located on the main floor of the hotel. I really enjoyed staying in this hotel, I stayed in other hotels in Rome too - so I would recommend it definitely.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 12 days in September 2012 and loved it. The location is perfect, and the suite we had was very spacious and under $200 per night. The mini bar was free as was the internet. The bed was very comfortable, not hard like many euro beds are. There was a nice balcony with French doors opening out to it. Bathroom was nice, but as with seemingly every hotel these days, they opted for the small glass partition that allows your shower water to drench the floor. Don't understand why all the hotels are doing this now, but it's pretty silly. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when in Rome.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the Suite, its worth every dollar.

We stayed 4 days during feb-13, we booked a standard . They offered us an upgrade for an extra 15 eur/day that we didnt take. The room was fine; big , comfortable bed, nice bathroom, modern, cute decoration. No central heating, they use the heat pump in the air conditioned (i had to switch it off because of the noise; in any case, the room wasnt too cold)
We had brekfast included, it was great- lot of dishes, tasty choices,.. A strong point definetely.
The people from the desk was very helpful with indications, enquiries,...
The price is slightly expensive than what should be- i payed 140 eur/night plus city taxes. Nevertheless, i know this chain and it is a stable value no matter the city, and i didnt want any surprises.

We actually stayed Sept 2012. The superior room had a good size bedroom w/balcony,plus a large living area.Bathroom was not huge, but had a full size tub w/shower. Room was well appointed & clean. Hotel is 1 block off of Via Cola di Rienzo, which is a major shopping area,& St. Peters is about 15 min by foot. There is an large selection of good restaurants nearby. Had lunch in the hotel restaurant a couple of times. They had good food, with a special price of 25 euros, for a fixed meal. I don't usually do these, but I was alone,& decided to try them.Wasn't sorry. The waiter was very kind& informative. My husband was hospitalized during this trip. The staff helped me with this problem. From getting to the emergency room to checking out. However,if you find yourself in this situation DO NOT go to Santo Spirito Hospital, even though it is the closest. It was disgusting!!! Other than this minor setback, we had a great trip & would highly recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: superior room was a good deal

I traveled with my 14 month son and 21 year old sister and we had a fantastic stay. We Stayed in a superor deluxe room for 5 nights on B&B.The room was roomy with a separate lounge area- they set up a baby cot for us and even supplied us with a kettle to prepare baby's milk.
We had a balcony facing a school playground- and unfortunately the first night was noisy, blaring loud music as they had a outdoor disco in the playground that very night which went on till 1am (not ideal as we had an early start the next morning to start our exploring of this amazing city).
The breakfast was great- no omelettes or fresh pancakes (unless you were willing to pay extra), but i guess this is the standard in Europe, but they had Twining tea and a great selection of croissants and cereals. They usually expect you to have breakfast in the restaurant but as baby was asleep in our room- they let me take a plate up to my room so my sister could come have her breakfast- and they even helped me take my plate up- and supplied us with milk for baby every morning which was a nice touch.
Overall the hotel seemed to attract a lot of business travelers and had many meeting and conference facilities.
Its in the less tourist part of Rome and just walking distance to their main shopping area which we enjoyed.
We picked this hotel as it was in a quieter area and was ideal when travelling with a baby and the rooms were very clean.
It was also a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and 3 mins walk to the square where you can get buses to the Panthean and other main parts of Rome- which you could walk to which would take 30-40 minutes but with a push chair- it seemed a challenge).
