“5 stars”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

Everything about this restaurant is fantastic. Food, service and friendly family atmosphere. Superb value for money and very reasonably priced. Our meal cost about 50 euros for lagers, cokes and wine. Family of four! If you staying in Villa Tassoni it is a two minute walk. Can't speak highly enough. Pasta or pizza -scrumptious Italian food. Not touristy at all.

“local families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

we went recommended by our hotel (Tiberio), and it had lots of italian families and couples. Nice simple place, good service, good pizza, simple, fresh food. In a city so full of tourist traps as Rome, this is an authentic neighbourhood restaurant. Fair price.

“Good restaurant, too bad about the service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2012

Ventured out on a Easter monday evening in Rome to try Il Peperonicino Dispettoso, the nearest, well-reviewed restaurant near our somewhat isolated hotel(the Rome Cavalieri). We arrived around 6:30pm and were one of the first patrons there.
Ordered the Bruschetta al tartufo, Fiori de zucca, a Prosciutto pizza for two.

The pizza had a very good brick-oven baked flavor, with a scant amount of tomato sauce was added. It wasn't oversalted like many we have recently tried in Rome. The fried zucchini flower stuffed with cheese and mushroom bruschetta were both delicious. This is where the locals come and the food is very good and reasonably priced with $8-10 euros for a one-person pizza/ 3-4$ for appetizers. The Limoncello ($3) is a must try as well!!
The only bad part of the evening was that it took forever to receive the bill. They weren't so busy that they couldn't have taken a few seconds to hand us the bill. May consider going there again, but only when it's not too busy.

“Really good local Italian eating exprience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2012

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children between the ages of 12 to 16. We were looking for a non touristy Italian eating experience and we found it at this restaurant.

It is informal, and most of the other customers in the packed / lively restaurant seemed to be locals / local families that go there for a good value relaxing Italian meal.....excatly what we look for!

The food and service were all excellent, and the prices good, including 9 euros for a bottle of house wine, which seems good in Rome (you can get carafs that are cheaper in other restaurants...).

We were made to feel very welcome.
