“Very nice, clean and cosy.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The room was very pretty, clean, and cute. The room service was also very friendly, as well as the guy that runs the hostel. All in all, we had a great time there, and we recommend it to everyone. The Rome is absolutely beautiful, and we had a great Valentine's Day vacation in Rome.

The standard of the room in this hostel was very good indeed. Large comfy bed with extra pillows and quilt. Clean towels and a hairdryer in the bathroom. The decor in the bathroom was of a very high standard with a great shower. Towels were replaced every day when the room was cleaned. There was a tv and a small fridge if you wanted to keep your own drinks. There was also a selection of travel books in the room. Marchelo who checked us in was very helpful and gave us a lot of information on how to get around, where to eat etc. The hostel is not suitable for disabled guests due to the 3 flights of stairs. Don't be put off by the hallways, this after all ia a very old building and once you get in your room it more than makes up for the halls. I have stayed in many hotels around europe and this hostel was of a much higher standard than some I have stayed in. Also a great location right next to the Basilica of St Mary Major and a short walk from the train, metro station. Only down side was that we arrived quite late and took some time to find it because the sign is very small ( its on the left hand side of the street about half way down )

We stayed at the Blue Hostel for 3 nights. I was simply amazed by its charm!

Think wooden-beamed ceilings, walls in Parisian grey, tasteful pictures of retro Roman ladies, windows looking out over a peaceful courtyard, spotlessly clean and modern bathroom, carefully chosen lamps, the sound of bells floating through the window, and all the mod cons you'd expect from a hotel (air conditioning; fridge; TV; fantastic security).

Furthermore, the location is just perfect! The Bluehostel is about a 6 minute walk from Termini station. It's just beyond the corner of stunning Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore. The Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatina are a 10 minute walk away, and many of Rome's most famous piazzas (Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona) are within easy walking distance. The Blue Hostel is also in Monti, one of Rome's buzziest neighbourhoods, with a vast array of wine bars, cafes, pizzerias and restaurants to choose.

It is the best place to stay to taste Italian lifestyle.

And last but not least, few words about the owner - Ercole and the rest of hosts - we were warmly welcomed and given some really valuable advice on what we should see or what is the best place to eat. And all in perfect English!

Grazie mille Blue Hotel for such memorable stay in Rome.

We really enjoyed the stay at Bluehostel. Definitely, it is the best place to stay in Rome!

The location is good and within walking distance from Termini station. It is quite easy to find the hostel by following the instruction from owner. The room was clean, cozy and with free wifi. We love the room except the 3 flights of staircase that killing us after the whole day walking in the city. The owner was nice and provide us useful information for the food and tourist spot. We love the Carbonara that recommended by him. We had problem with the kettle at the beginning as there were plenty of white settlements in the hot water after boiling. We requested to change the kettle and Elcerdo explained that the white settlements are the minerals in the water that very safe to drink. We had a pleasant stay here and will sure recommend to our friends and family.

The Blue Hostel was enjoyable; the owner was very informative and arrived at the hostel to show us a few spots on the map and to help us associate our location in regards to our itinerary of places we wanted to go. The rooms were clean, the hostel was in good repair, and the location was really spectacular. We were within walking distance of many hot-topic sights, restaurants, cafes, etc. The hostel was quiet and our rooms were large. We really enjoyed it!

Taxi transfer available from Fiumicino Airport - bit pricey but worth it. We were greeted by Ercole on our arrival, who kindly showed us where landmarks, restaurants and other handy places were.
Very comfortable stay - rooms are small but provide all you need. Very clean, cute rooms. Only downfall was that there is no breakfast option. Price very reasonable. Close to termini train station, many good restaurants, and all landmarks.

Blue Hostel is a short walk from Termini and easy to find. We were met by Ercole who gave us overview of accommodation, local area and suggested some excellent places to eat/drink. Location enabled us to walk to Colosseum and Forum. Metro at end of road and buses/trams at Termini give quick access to rest of city. Agree with previous reviews that tell you about cleanliness, stairs, furniture, shower etc. Adding to review by 'Bostocks', we were on third floor in room next to the the main door and yes, locking/unlocking did wake us up - but only two other rooms on floor so not a problem.

Room Tip: Noticed room next to us had a balcony so you may want to check options when booking.
