“Excellent location and good value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2012

Lovely and clean guesthouse right next to Termini Station. Marco greeted us when we arrived and very kindly helped to set up a plan for our 3 day visit which enabled us to see all of the sights. Everything, even the Vatican (if you have determination and decent shoes!) is within walking distance from the Guesthouse. We walked everywhere to counteract the large amounts of delicious Roman pasta we were consuming but if you prefer public transport, there are plenty of buses, trains and trams that run from Termini Station around Rome.

We stayed here for 3 nights and would most definitely stay here again. Our double room looked out onto an Italian style courtyard which did tend to get a little noisy in the mornings and evenings but as we were up early and then very tired from the long day of site seeing, it wasn't an issue. The room and bathroom were a good size and they were cleaned daily although we were never disturbed by housekeeping. The bed was firm but comfortable. Breakfast was basic, cereal pastries etc. There was a fridge/freezer in the kitchen so you could buy things to make sandwiches etc if needed. Only downfall was there was no wifi and the TV didn't appear to work.

Once you go out of the building, it's just about 15meters to the Termini station by a side door. very convenient especially when main mode of transportation is commuting by train or bus. Yes, Termini area may be busy with a lot of people going about but we felt safe going out in the morning and going home in the evening, even during late hours. Marco was accommodating even before our arrival as we corresponded through emails, answering our questions and giving us suggestions.

Paula took good care of us during our stay. When we arrived, she handed a Rome map with main sights highlighted. And she gave us some tips as well. We weren't able to meet Marco as I believe he wasn't feeling well the week that we were there. Free breakfast is simple - some cereals, croissants, coffee, tea, etc -- so we bought some bread, prosciutto, cheese -- and we had additional sandwich for breakfast. Paula kept the apartment and the rooms clean each day. We went to Prague for five days and Marco/Paula let us leave our two pieces of luggage with her for a minimal fee - better than leaving our things at Termini baggage deposit.

We felt at home during our five days in Guest House Rome, and we'd definitely consider staying there again if ever we'll be back in Rome. Thank you, Marco and Paula.

p.s. there is an elevator/lift but it is really small (perhaps, for two people without luggage. my husband and i had to take solo trips with luggage), so the lift may not be good for claustrophobic people.

Room Tip: We got a room facing the courtyard, so we weren't bothered by the noise from the streets.

Thi is a wonderful place to stay. The location is close to the central railway station so getting around is easy. Dont let the scare mongers put you off about the area just follow any normal precautions in any city anywhere in the world.
The rooms are spotless, nice bathroom, comfy bed, all looked after by Paula.
Marco is a charming, friendly and informative host.
We would certainly stay here again when we next visit Rome which we probably will as its an amazing place with friendly Romans, good food, sunshine and just wandering around in the middle of a living museum.

Room Tip: Try and get a courtyard facing room

A lovely clean and spacious apartment centrally located next to Termini Station. Do not be put off by reviews about the area - we were out and about in the evening and early mornings as well as during the day and found the area fine.
The apartment is clean and although Paula did arrive at about 8.30am to clean, she was happy to wait until we could vacate the room for breakfast. Breakfast was quite frugal and we supplemented it with fruit juice and fresh fruit butu that was our choice based on our usual breakfast.
Marco is as everyone else states - very friendly and knowledgeable about Rome with good recommendations. All in all, an excellent location.

Guest House Rome provided exactly what we were looking for; a safe, quiet, clean room close to the rail system and the anicient sites. Marco provided tour guide level of recommended clustering of sites to visit, as well as cultural insights. Paula kept the place spotless and also helped with our questions. The bed was comfortable, the room had ample storage for our luggage, the shower was refreshing, and the elevator a welcomed lift back to our floor! Great value, hope to come back again.

Great cozy guest house located in historical palace and very nice once inside.
Excellent location at the side of the main train station and the airport terminal, as well as the underground hub.
We actually walked from there to all main historic sites and enjoyed the walk through typical boroughs, to the Opera house and tasteful restaurants around.
Marco was very helpful, professional and made every effort to let us enjoy our holiday.
I recommend it as a very roman experience.
