Our interaction with Devid - the owner of the Dem House started when we were still in London . Devid sent us very clear and helpful directions to his guest house, even giving tips on how to find cost effective transportation to his place. So it all started really pleasurably.

But it was only the beginning!

On our arrival we were sweetly surprised by finding a pair of really tasty Italian cookies and a map to help us navigating Rome in our room, which was cool and refreshing - thanks for perfectly aligned air conditioning system in the room!

The room itself was very clean, big and modern. Housekeeper was coming in every day to clean our room and make the bed - very professional service and fresh white towels also made us feel like we were in 5 star hotel. Or even better - no rushing people all around you, and cozy, home like atmosphere. LCD TV, remote controlled air conditioning system, iron, safe and fridge were very handy as well.

The friendliness and helpfulness of the host were so pleasing - we felt like we visited old friends in Italy . We even received 'good bye' note from the owner on our last day - because he knew that he will not be present at the time of our check- out. Personal touch and attention was so pleasing...

I have told all my friends about extremely excellent service we have received at Dem Guesthouse and in addition to that it was good value for money - so package you can't afford to loose. Thank you very very much for making our stay so fantastic and hopefully see you sometime soon at our lovely guesthouse. We simply fell in love with Rome ... so we certainly will be back!

chanced upon this BB when i was doing my research on ROME .i hv stayed in another BB , but it was fully booked in the last leg of my trip.. i found DEM as a substitute BUT it was amazing , nvr regretted staying at DEM .
it was clean/ cozy and its amenities was new . it is one of the nice places i had stayed in Italy , wld definitely return if i hv chance to return to ROME . rooms are clean, modern, nice shower and i think it comes wif soap n toothbrushes too

though i muz say the location was abit difficult to find initially but we managed to . we ate at one the nearby eateries near this BB , food was pretty ok too.

breakfast at DEM was not exactly fantastic ( No warm croissants etc nor warm drinks) but the breakfast basket was equipped wif cereals/juices/biscuits etc , one wldnt mind eating these stuff for a day or two , i guessed ?!!

The guesthouse was in a terrible location. Right outside our doorstep were homeless people and garbage everywhere. When you go to rome, do not stay near termini station. Rooms are definitely not soundproof!

Other than that, the guesthouse was pretty decent for the price, small rooms but clean, very nice owners and they are always happy to help.

We were looking for a convenient location close to the Termini, so we could use the train to arrive from Fumicino airport. The Dem Guesthouse is still new and we thought it offered good value for money and was only a short walk from the station. The rooms are a good size, with wardrobes, a safe, mini bar/fridge, and kettle, plus the bathrooms have cubicle showers and space to put your toiletries. There is also a communal room with a coffee machine and internet access. Devid was very prompt in all his emails, offering us help and advice before we arrived and during our stay. We liked the nearby coffee shop and several of the local restaurants. We will happily recommend this accommodation to our friends. We walked all over the city from the guesthouse and took the Metro from the Termini to reach the Vatican, plus we used the local bus to return from Trastevere.
Just look for the large wooden doorway/entrance opposite the Hotel Morgana on Via Filippo when you first arrive and ring the bell marked Dem Guesthouse. (The accommodation is in a residential style property and there is a small elevator. Request a room at the end of the corridor away from the entrance and reception. The room at the back is larger than the one overlooking the street.)
