“Eccellent hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

A perfect place to stay in Rome. Central position just out of Barberini Metro stop, simple and clean. The staff is very friendly and they can give you really useful suggestions to visit Rome. The price is very good in consideration of the great position. It's the place to stay also in the future visit in Rome.

This is a perfect place where to stay in Rome.
Small, elegant, simple and very central located (close to the Berini's Triton Fountain, Barrberini metro stop).
Giorgio is very helpful and alwais with a smile.
He arranged for us very interesting private tours and transfers from/to the airport on moderate rates.
We will bew back an suggest this place to all the people.

We stayed in this hotel run by Giorgio and Barbara, for one night in December 2013. We needed a place to stay at the beginning of our two week trip through Italy, and were using Rome as a launch pad to begin our adventures (we would return to Rome for several more nights of course, but had booked an apartment through a friend). We would have been very happy to stay at La Piccola Maison for much longer. Giorgio booked us a driver who met us at the airport, which was very convenient considering our long journey from Oregon. He dropped us off at the door to the hotel. Unfortunately, our bags did not make it on our connecting flight to Rome, but Barabara went above and beyond to deal with the airline via phone and our bags arrived later that night, much to our relief. Barbara and Giorgio really helped us more than they needed to, considering we only stayed for one night, recommending restaurants, bars and cafes. Even after we left, they were very helpful via email, setting up a personal tour guide for a very reasonable price for the Vatican Museums (which I highly recommend). The room was clean and fully updated, with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. A bottle of Chianti was waiting for us upon arrival, and the location was perfect to explore the center of Roma, even for a short time. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Roma, for the quality, price, and friendly help. Gracie Mille to Gorgio and Barbara!

Not your typical Rome hotel, La Piccola Maison occupies a floor of a residential apartment building. (I was told they plan to expand to a second floor and add a breakfast room in the near future.) But if you stay there you feel as if you are a local. You have your key for the street entrance, there many cafes and restaurants nearby, the wine shop is next door. My room was spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The subway is only a few minutes away allowing for easy connections to the airport train. If you like to walk - and what better way to explore any city - you can reach as far as the Colosseum and the Vatican within about 45 minutes. If you are a runner, the Borghese Gardens are very close by. I would recommend La Piccola without hesitation.

Room Tip: The bath for one of the rooms is not en suite. For me this was not an issue and its price is lower...

My husband and I stayed here in November. It was wonderful. Barbara helped us plan everything - she recommended wonderful restaurants (SoraLucia was exceptional) and truly the best gelato in Rome (Crispillo). The room we stayed in was immaculate, comfortable and large. The location is within walking distance of almost everything you would want to see during your visit - with the exception of Vatican City, which was about a 10 minute taxi ride (10 euros). our trip was divided by a 2 day expedition to Florence and Barbara and Georgio were so helpful in booking the train, keeping a suitcase for us while we were gone and, upon our return, they put us in an absolutely wonderful space - it was an apartment, with 2 bathrooms that would comfortably sleep a family of 5. Again, immaculate and very comfortable. We will definitely return and we will insist that every one we know going to Rome stays at La Piccolo Maison!

Located at the heart of Rome City, the Bernini Metro station and Bus stop is merely 20 steps from the Hotel Building. The Host Barbara is very helping in planning the stay. Vatican is 4 stop, Colosseum is 2 step and Roma Termini is 1 stop from Bernini Metro Station. WOnderful eating joints in expensive Vento area and Nice reasonable on way to Trevi. Almost everything on walking distance. Very clean room and ncie bathroom.

Room Tip: Attached Bathroom

I stayed at the “Piccola Maison” in August, during a short trip in Italy.
We were looking for a comfortable, clean, and affordable place in the Piazza Barberini area. I had stayed there before, in more expensive hotels I could never enjoy: a vibrant city like Rome leaves no time for leisure indoors, it’s all about sightseeing and street life. La Piccola Maison provided to be everything we needed! It is like an apartment in an old flat made of.. Apartments. Ours faced Via Veneto, a wonderful view. The bed was perfect and the bathroom clean and modern. There even was a complimentary bottle of wine for us. Giorgio, the man in charge, was just the perfect host. We arrived a bit later than expected, and telephoned him. He was there for us in no time at all. He gave us many wonderful tips (suggesting the rental of a VESPA just around the corner undoubtedly the best). Even more, when we left, he noticed we had forgotten our camera, and he telephoned our family in Argentina to warn us!
Our next stay in Rome will certainly include La Piccola Maison as our preferred guesthouse. A last tip: telephone Giorgio half an hour before your arrival so that he is there to show you around and give you the keys.
